Maybe we should go back and arrest all of those who fought the British in 1775 too? I am pretty sure some of those long ago protesters used *gasp* violent methods too. Those that clamor for "peaceful protests" and put that notion on a pedestal (I am not against peaceful methods of course) are those that are afraid to lose their own privileges. They are cowards and centrists (see UofA as an example). In Portland, Seattle, Austin, Louisville and in so many other places, we are fighting the evils of White Supremacy, Capitalism, and Heteronormativity. I completely support the Portland protesters, and I believe they, if anyone, are the only example of Patriots we have left in this country.

Nah, peaceful protests are generally going to be better than non-peaceful ones. They accomplish more and are better optics.

I just recognize that in a movement of millions of people, some aren't going to be peaceful. Fortunately, even after all of this, protesters have done less damage to other humans than police have to protesters.

Some of that is legitimate. (Not the part about calling out UofA2 as a coward however---that is way over the line!).

But, my dear enthusiast of confusion---- the reality is--
(I come from the Seattle area and know MANY MANY folks up in the NW with whom I've spoken recently)
that you "enthusiasts/protestors/antifas, etc."------------leave behind a REAL bad smell, taste, and feel within the locals whose lives were disrupted by your "displays". They are left angry, bitter, and LESS willing to consider ANY of your issues of protest/complaint. In short, the actions of SOME OF YOU destroy the credibility of the movement as a whole and cause just more and more antipathy to the "cause" such as it is!

The reality is that your "battle" against racism, bigotry, sexism, etc is a battle for the MINDS of folks who LIVE in this Country and vote!
I suspect that you (individually) don't have the mind to grasp this based on your few and recent posts, however surely someone within the movement for social justice MUST have a CLUE!

You ain't changing the minds of the folks you need to reach and affect with mindless violent, disorganized attacks on various and assorted cities and Fed. properties. You're just causing more fear, more ignorance, and more folks arching their backs and saying to themselves and their neighbors I ain't listening to folks who want to tear down the only society on the GLOBE that actually enshrines the GOALS you idealize into their framing LAW!
