NFL Draft League 4. Live Draft completed. Topic

Man we talked about this earlier but Sacks are so fucky on Whatif, I was looking at the 2014 Chiefs defense where Houston had 22 sacks and Whatif lists him with 5 sacks, like what?

I completely agree! My Legion of Boom Seahawks had 28 INTs for the year I'm using. WIS gifts them with 12 total INTs on the individual DEF listing. And, as you know, the draft center does not give you the individual player breakdown on tackles and INTs, so you are stuck with whatever you receive after entering the league. I have pulled DEFs for that very reason! Speaking to sacks-- there are some teams with the correct sacks out there and a few teams with multiple guys having double digit sacks. Hard to find though. And they really make it hard on the pre-sack era too. So you gotta rely on a collective group of playmakers.

The way they do Pre-Offical sack era Pass rushers is pretty dirty Deacon Jones in particular.

Also Open League offenses are pretty ridiculous, if an O-Line averaged what mine currently is it would be the GOAT O-Line lol.

I don't know if WIS has a way of making those individual defensive players or defensive units have in-game intangibles. I will say that the Fearsome Foursome with Deacon has made 2 SB appearances (winning 1) in our 4 year existence. They have great DBs too. I love those defenses that always keep you in the game, they won't completely shut you down and dominate, but you definitely aren't dropping 4-5 touchdowns on them. Above average price= Above average performance.

Separately in an open league, Lawrence Taylor had 4 sacks for me in a Super Bowl win. The other team wasn't weak in their sack rating either. Another odd thing is that I've had better luck with no name safeties making big plays more than the stud CBs.

Out of curiosity, what is your guys’ hard limit on durability for a starter? Like for a main contributor you wont go sub 90 durability or something like that?

Yes, 93 or above for QB/RB.
WR/TE can be almost anything.

Huh I just realised Sammy Baugh’s durability for his 1945 season is wrong, he has 80 for playing in 8/10 games but he played in all ten he just didnt start in all 10.

Wow. I guess people are looking at the last live draft!!

Got me revisiting the 400K salary requirement for players in the draft or not. Upon further thought. we should have NO minimum salary requirement per each live drafted player (within the 75 mil cap) but just provide a reminder list of cheap guys drafted that are NOT available as post draft roster filler. Just an extra sitemail reminder right after the live draft is completed.

There are some good players that have injury years and come in with a 325K sometimes too as danpsull pointed out. I'll try to capture all of that in the filler list sent out.

Some great interaction here between the owners on the last couple pages. I forgot having to give up one of my drafted teams! Great on specsman for saving the day. And the last owner for rejoining post draft at that time.

On that last thought, we could use that again (donate an exclusive Core 10) if necessary. Someone drafts two teams and could make 1 of them immediately available post draft. This allows those people who would like to play in a league like this and try it out, but don't want the 7 day live draft commitment or whatever reason it might be.

Similar to the zillion SIM baseball progressive leagues out there who post available rosters from the departed owner. This also allows them to complete the other 13 spots under the salary cap. As we work our way to capacity, we could exercise this option. Just a thought.

Well, this happens after each live draft. It’s not a big deal. This was my suggested resolution to eliminate something that no one really cares about. When we went down to 10 live draft positions, I thought it would help to draft all starters and core contributors in the live draft.

I can say certainly the spirit of the league is not fighting over minimum salary players. We wanted to get away from that- and I was one of the primary owners ensuring I’d get my cost saver filler. Do we really care how many James Owens or the cheap Rickey Dudley’s that are on multiple rosters? We can work smarter and remove this. No one is being penalized or given an advantage. Just make the 325-399K all available post draft.
Haven't been in this league yet, but this seems like a terrible rule

We would waste time after every draft editing the cheap minimum 325K roster filler. People would select/draft cheap players in the live draft to force others to spend more post draft. There is a limited supply at certain positions.

We didn't ever have issues on the significant names or decent players, it was the forgettable names that showed up on rosters when they were claimed by someone else. I was frustrated wasting time on it every season and sending several sitemails about it.

We just needed to communicate better on that right after the draft. I will send a list of the cheap players that are exclusive via sitemail and post in the forum immediately after the draft. I didn't do that before. Maybe that will help aid the process of any final edits.

Make it part of each team's posting and salary to say you cross-checked the cheap draftee list. I'll just reply in the forum, so people see it and I'm not sending individual sitemails-- if its something insignificant on min salary players. Don't think anyone will care if its a filler player. No new rules will be implemented for a minimum salary.
