OK, now I am down to starters number 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9 with Kojima out for season, Soto on the DL since spring, and Roskos and Gabriel DFA'd after failing.  And my chances of staying a playoff team are?

If a player that has cleared waivers is traded... would he need to clear waivers again?  Or, once you've cleared you've cleared for the rest of the season?

Pretty big logjam at 71-74 wins.  I woudn't sell playoff tickets.

I'm pretty sure he has to clear waivers again.

Would you go with a lesser starter as a fifth starter after the roster expansion, or would you bring up extra relievers (all with rating better than the 5th starter option) and have a 'staff' game with a reliever with low durability going first?

who is lee going to sign with?
12/10/2010 7:24 AM
You could opt for a tandem with your lesser 5th starter having a 5 pull rating.   If he's pitching well, he stay in the game.   If he isn't, he's out and that first reliever you'd be using as a faux starter would get the ball.

The Yanks will offer the most.  They'll do the same thing they did with CC.   Offer the most by far.  If Lee's in it for the money, and I believe he is(which is why he bounced around so much over the last two), he'll sign with the Yanks.   However, it's possible that he'll say "This is enough.  I don't need the extra 18m the Yanks are offering" and sign somewhere else.

Do you believe there are advanced civilizations on other planets in the universe?
12/10/2010 10:19 AM
I have no reason to believe there isn't advanced life forms in the universe outside of earth.   However, if pressed, I wouldn't argue that there is.  Basically, I think it's silly for us, earthlings, to assume we know everything that goes on in an infinite entity like the universe.   We could be like the Whos on a dustball.

Within 30 seconds last night, Matt Millen said that Randy Moss:

a) has a great football mind
b) is a hard worker
c) is a great teacher
d) would make a great coach someday

How does this guy not still have a job in an NFL front office somewhere?

Also, what is Matt Millen smoking?

Damn.  I was hoping you'd ask for the best college football game this weekend.   From what I understand, Moss does have a high football IQ.  So Millen hit about .250 on that one.    If he'd done that well with his draft picks, the Lions would be a contender.   I have tough time with all of the NFL Network's Thursday Night team.  Something doesn't work.

You once posted a link where you could enter the stats for a team and it would spit out the "ideal" line up. Can you share that again?

Also at what point is a fan allowed to ditch his team and start rooting for another one? Are there criteria for being considered a "fair weather fan?" Would it matter if I move out of the country for an extended period of time, there by severing my local ties to most of "my teams?'

Sorry I know that is a lot of questions for the one post.

Are you looking forward to the day that T.O. and Randy Moss are TV football commentators?

I say they can hold Olympic tryouts at my house.    I've got a pole they can dance on.

My teams have been my teams for 37/41 years so that's a tough one.   I'd say you can change teams if you just can't agree with what management does.   To the point that it turns your stomach and makes you want to punch people.   The Raiders have been my team since the Immaculate Reception but, because of fantasy football and my "leanings" towards teams that might stretch the rulebook just a little, I've quietly rooted for the Eages since the Buddy Ryan era.  They signed Vick, who, in my mind, can't be hit hard or often enough, and I now root for their QB to get destroyed and for them to lose by 50.  Not quite a "favorite" team but close enough.
Fair weather fans are the sort that's posting like crazy in the baseball forum right now.   Sux fans disappeared last June and weren't seen again until the trade for Gonzalez.   The signing of Crawford woke even more of them from their slumber.  Being a fan means being a fan even when your team blows.  I proudly display my Raider crap and take the abuse like a man.
No.  One does not have to live by the stadium to be a fan, therefore, being many miles away does not severe your fandom.

I actually think TO could do it.   Moss, not so much.

When will WIS have the 5th starter be in a tandem, since 1-4 can be?
