Got in my car last night 30 seconds before the GW goal.  Great timing!!  Was getting texts all night and saw the highlights.  Mike Smith is a laughable joke of a flopper and he should get a reprimand for acting like a soccer player.  Shaw deserved a minor and that's it.  The officiating in the NHL is a flat-out joke...no wonder their league is a laughingstock.

I'm convinced if a yote took off Crawfords head hawks fans would be crying murder.... Not for 2 minute penalties. I thought the penalty appropriate. Accidental or not... It was wreckless skating behind the net. Congrats on the hawks win.

Oh, for sure it deserved a penalty.  But Shaw is an aggressive player and that's his game.  Should have been two minutes, and if Smith was really hurt, he was REQUIRED to visit the quiet room, as per NHL policy.  The fact he took a swig of water and was fine proves he's a lying piece of ****.  I can't wait to knock his *** out of the playoffs.

They're a laughingstock amongst their own fans.  EVERY fan of the game sees what a joke the officiating and punishment has become.  Shanahan has proven incompetent and needs to be canned and a real, unbiased disciplinarian employed.  The Weber non-suspension shows he has zero clue about how to determine and mete out punishment.  Even Nashville fans knew Weber deserved a game or two and said so.  I agree they need to just play on because there's no other course of action for them, but the league needs to figure a solution to this issue pronto.

Part of the reason for the 5 and misconduct imo is BECAUSE he is an aggressive player. It serves Shaw well most of the time but that is a call that comes with the territory when you are known to be that type of player . When was the last time you saw a helmet to helmet hit on a goalie? It's not an everyday occurrence because most players will slow it up in that situation. Embellishing or not.... The fact still remains a fast moving Shaw collided with a standstill goalie at mach 5 speeds .... I'm sure it stung. You would be ****** if the tables were turned and it was your goalie on the ground.

I get the 'league is a joke' mantra.... I hear it in every major sport. It's old.

I do agree Weber should have got a game off.... Bertuzzi took care of it though.

Cubs last won the WORLD SERIES in 1908.  In 1977 the CUBS won the National League Penant.....Which is kinda like the Canucks winning the Western Conferance (which they have done three times SINCE 1977).

Shaw didn't get 5 because he plays an aggressive game.  That's selective officiating and it doesn't happen.  Wait, it's the NHL...you may have a point.
