All - I can't please everyone here but I am going to go with the following solution after speaking with milest.

He says he spent a lot of time finding a player who fit his team and came up with 84-85 Bird whom he thought was available.

benhoidal made the pick a long time ago and replacing him now or going with the 85-86 version would not seem fair.

So...

For this situation ONLY, I will allow BOTH teams to run with 84-85 Bird. No, it's not ideal. Yes, Miles gets a great value in the fourth considering he shouldn't have been there.

Some will not agree I am sure, but this is the best way to allow both owners to keep their plans in tact.

Going forward -- picks without BOTH years posted will be ruled invalid. In this case it was like a game of telephone because I pulled the pick off someone else's recap. No excuse tho- I will make sure to vet all picks in future that they adhere to proper format.

Longtallbrad is up. Hope this does not take away anyone's enjoyment of the league. I think we can make it work with this single instance of a player duplication considering the strange circumstances.

I thinks that's a reasonable judgment under the circumstances, and the clarity for the future is helpful.
