STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS 2009-10 Topic

Asham gets a bonus, Neal gets an all-expense paid trip to Hawaii.  Hossa gets 4 games for impeding Torres' shoulder with his head.

Until the players' association steps up and grows a pair, and decides to protect THEIR OWN MEMBERS, they will be at
the mercy of the random decisions coming out of the league head office.

If the players association would make mandatory 2 and 3 year suspensions for crap like this a non-negotiable part of the next collective agreement, this
problem would virtually disappear overnight.

Players do it (violent attacks on the ice) because the competitive advantage gained for their team outweighs the penalties incurred under the current structure.

Why the players' association is so silent on this issue is beyond me.

Because they have no balls.

Freaking Shamahan blows it yet again on Neal.

You can't on the one hand complain about Shaw's suspension being too tough, and then complain about Torres non call.  Bit hypocritical don't you think.

This ALL stems from the Weber non-suspension.  This is amazingly brutal and I can't abide watching this **** anymore.  When star players are brutalized and nothing is done about it, I can't in good conscience devote my time to it anymore.
Actually this all stems back to Boston winning the cup last season.  The league allowed them to play an over aggressive style of hockey, and were rewarded with the cup.  This season most teams are trying to emulate that style of play.  This must be the most suspensions at the start of the playoffs ever - all because the NHL wants to promote this aggressive style of hockey.  It seems to sell to US fans as US TV ratings for this seasons playoffs are the highest i over 10 years.  Get used to a bunch of no name 4th liners running your stars and sending them to hospital.

Just read all of your whines about how unfair Shaw's suspension is.

I didn't see you complain when Keith head hunted Sedin earlier in the season.

You seem to be able to dish it out but can't take it when your team is the one under fire

I wasn't posting here at the time.  Keith deserved a suspension.  And if you think Shaw deserved 3 games you're ****** in the head.
