would you take a bet that the Phillies would not be in the world series next season?

Yes. I'd take the field.

also, is it just me or does it bother you that all the reports are making a big deal about Lee taking less money ...it would be one thing if he took $1,000,000 instead of $160,000,000.  He's still getting $120,000,000 to play a ******* game.

Won't you tell me, where have all the good times gone?

cleveland?

what do you think the biggest factor was in lee choosing philly over ny/texas/anywhere else:  being part of probably the best rotation in baseball? not playing in ny cause the fans there were meanies to his wife? knowing that texas got lucky last season and probably won't make the playoffs next season? him not having to be 'the man' when it comes to the world series (where he blew a tire last postseason)? being able to get another decent sized deal when he's 36/37 and finish his career elsewhere?
and what about him kind of pulling a lebron and joining a team of superstars (moreso than the current yanks), again, so he doesn't have to be 'the man'? methinks the pressure of having to do it all made him human while with the rangers (and kind of even with the mariners).

or was it just lee's mancrush on chase utley?

Maddux-Smoltz-Glavine, or Halladay-Lee-Oswalt/Hamels?

Did the Phils letting Jason Werth go make the locker room safe for the return of Cliff Lee?

Who stands to benefit more from Mrs. Lee's return to Philly:  Geno's, Pat's or the field?

I said before he may decide "This is enough" and take a deal somewhere else.   He's making more per season so, depending on inflation and investments, he might not be taking less at all.  And there's a performance option for a 6th season.  If he reaches that, his 6y deal with Philly is about 7m less than the 7y the Yanks offered.

David Lee Roth stole them.

Nobody, including the good times, go to Cleveland.

I think he chose the path of least resistance.   I doubt one guy spitting on/at his wife in NY played a part.   Philly fans are rough bunch too.

I like Chase Utley.  He and his wife are big animal protection people.

Until Philly's rotation does something, I go with the Braves.

It would be nice.

No, that wasn't it.  Lee could hire bodyguards.

Anyone who serves fattening food.

Current Vegas projected wins for the Phillies in '11: 96. Over or under?
12/14/2010 3:30 PM
I'd take the over.  Not being condescending but the NL is not the AL.    They are head and shoulders above the rest of the NL.    Of course, a couple of injuries and it all changes.

Are the Dodgers still in the league?
