When/how does the draft work?

This is from the game's help section:

The Draft

Every season every team in the league participates in a draft. The draft is full of high potential young players that could possibly be tomorrow's super star and the answer to your team's victory. You can view these prospects by clicking on "View Prospects" under the Free Agent table in Manage Players and Manage Goalies.

Your team has professional scouts that are paid to go watch these prospects play and then report back to you an idea of their skills and attributes. The higher your team's "Training and Scouting" upgrade, the more information of the prospects is revealed.

How the draft works

Every season each team in the league gets to draft one player from the prospects list. The teams with the lowest season rank get to go first.

There are 4 rounds. At the end of each round you will see which players or goalies were signed and if your team hasn't had a turn yet you can adjust which player or goalie you want to pick first. As soon as the playoffs start the first round is processed. The worst 5 teams (based on rank) in the league get to pick their player or goalie first (starting with team #20). The second round starts at beginning of the 2nd playoff series, the third round at the beginning of the 3rd series, and the fourth round at the beginning of the 4rth series.

The worst teams get to choose first until the #1 team has chosen. After the fourth round all the remaining players will be moved to the free agent roster and can be picked up by any team in the league.

What you do

Before it is your turn for the draft make sure you pick the top 5 players or goalies that you want. When the draft is processed it will check to see if your #1 pick is still available. If it isn't it will chose your #2 pick and so on. If all 5 of your picks are taken then it will choose a random player or goalie from the prospects list. The draft is completed every season and a new list of prospects is created at the beginning of each season.

Well... As bad as NHN sucks this year, you still don't often see m'boys blow a lead.

I got a sign the recession may be headed for a recovery.

Rather solid, convincing win over previously once-beaten SSS. The Man is now 24-0-1 vs the rest of the league, and 0-2 against his ol' pal.

Twin City Bombers, who has fixated on getting ONE guy from me, a measley 70 overall I really don't want to give up (a PP Ace with 81 off, 73 def I use as a 2nd-line PK). After he messaged me, I sent him an offer of my floor sweepings who don't even play, my back up goalie and the guy he wants, for a starting goalie and a top shelf defenseman.

If he goes for it, I'm in the Final Four.
