Or maybe we see a lot more Kyle Greentree this year, and maybe Homer thinks this kid we got from Edmonton can play? Umberger is as good as gone too, we'll see what we get for his rights. Theres a rumor that he's going to CBJ for the 19th pick.

The rumor I read was for Umberger plus 1st to Columbus for Hainsey and 1st. I think the Flyers want to move up to see if that goalie Pickard is still there because he won't be at 27th.

I don't think they think too much of the kid they got from the Oilers, Holmgren never brings him up. If another D-man beside Parent comes up it will be Ratchuck he is the most ready.

In any case I think we will see a few trades with the Flyers today and tomorrow.

The Flyers denied the report on Carter, he is not signed yet. Lets hope it is cheaper than the $5mil per report.

That works for me. He is a UFA on the 1st though, Holmgen would have to be pretty sure he could sign him to a reasonable deal. Hopefully Suter taking 3.5mil per brings a possible Hainsey contract down to Earth.

Kinda funny after that Philly/Buffalo series a couple of years ago that the Flyers decided they need to get smaller and quicker and now Buffalo wants to get bigger and stronger.

Buffalo is still pretty wimpy but that kid they just drafted should be interesting. How tall was his mother? She looked about the same height.

Earlier they said on tv that the cap will be "north of $57mil" that should make it easy to hold onto most of our players.

God Damn Nashville just drafted who I wanted the Flyers to take at 19.

I don't go as far as to keep up with these guys before the draft but from what I hear he's a solid pick. Sounds a lot like Parent, good skater, very calm, good breakout pass.



Wow. Eminger from Washington for the 27th pick!

Eminger is a very nice pick up, he hasn't put it all together yet in the NHL but he is a quality young offensive defensman who could learn a lot from Timonen and some of our other defensmen.

Been reading some good things about Sbisa and was ranked well before he was selected so that should be nice. I just really wanted a good goalie prospect in our system and Pickerd sounded like a good one. Not unhappy we took Sbisa though, he was a forward and from what I read is very fast.

Flyers now have tonnes of young D!



Coburn, Parent, Syvret, Sbisa & Eminger.

I think the Flyers are trying to put the 2005 Canadian junior team together (one of the best junior teams ever, specially of late). They now have Richards, Carter, Coburn, Syvret from the team.

I think pretty highly of Syvret not only from the juniors but he was a main cog for the London Knights who, along with corey perry & robbie schremp, won about 90 straight games about 3 years back (ended up going 59-7-2 in 04-05). They also beat Sydney's team in the championship game (Memorial Cup) 4-0.

Syvret ended up with 69 points (23 goals 46 assists) in 62 games. Only 4 points back from Downie with Syvret playing one more game. Also 5 points back of Carter with 7 more games played. Of course it doesn't hurt to have 3 out of the 4 top points getters on the team.

Fast fact: Before they traded away Umberger, the Flyers had the only guys in the league with a last name starting with U (Umberger & Upshall).

3rd round Marc-Andre Bourdon offensive D-man but isn't a very good skater from what I read.
