So it is time to mix it up. Welcome and forget everything you have known and trusted so far in this survivor. This round there will be no tribes. It will be a free for all. Don't think it is not important though, because it will be very important going into the next round. This round will be all about stragey and excitement. It is a league that actually ran in the sim and was one of the funnest leagues I have ever been in. Below is the challenge.


Who does everyone hate around here? That's right, your man Barry Bonds is back! You will first select any team that Barry played on. He MUST start for your team no matter what, and play the whole game. Other than that, you can do whatever you want with him. You will play 3 games, (not a best of 3, still play 3 games even if your team won first two) and post your scores, along with what both Barry Bonds' in the game did. You will sitemail me your team choice, do not post here in the forum. You will have until Friday at noon central to turn in a team, or it will be randomly selected by me. You must use at least 2 starting pitchers during your 3 games, but can start whenever you want them too. What's the catch you say?

The catch is this. For everytime Barry hits a homerun or is walked, either intentionally or unintentionally, it will become -1 run to your score. For example, if you are leading 4-3 in the top of the 9th and your Bonds gets intentionally walked, the score is now tied at 3-3. If the game ends, you will just start a new game and immediately put the pitcher you had in in the 9th inning into the first (I know for one out it wont be that way, for that one out, use the SP of the game u just played). Every pitcher already used though is off limits, just like a normal game would be. For pitch hitting, pitching, anything. So choose your Bonds carefully and get ready to use Bonds as an advantage or disadvantage. You will do this for 3 games and give me Bonds stats, and the adjusted score and winner. Remember though if Bonds hits a grand slam, you still get a positive 3 runs, but get the -1 for Bonds hitting it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Here is another catch though, the person with the best Barry Bonds' stats get a secret gift from me to use in the next challenges. Only you and the person that wins it will know what the secret gift is, until it is used.

So what's up for auction this time? "If Bonds gets walked or hits a home run, immediately after, you can say he has immunity and not get docked the -1 run. This is only good for one use though." (You must say so immediately after though and not innings later...

The auction closes at noon Friday.

Now for voting instructions. The top 6 winners of this challenge are safe and have immunity. The bottom 6 will then be vulnerable to be voted out. The bottom 6 also will be voting one of themselves out as the next survivor gone.

So, per your instructions at the end, and because there was some confusion about a similar challenge the last time out, the bottom six are the only ones that vote?

Does IBB count as -1 run?

Yes, intentional or not its -1.

So what's to stop your opponent from IBBing Barry 4 or 5 times in a game to lower your score by 4 or 5 runs?

You could do the same thing couldn't you? IT is there as a strategy for players to use or not use. There are tons of things you could do and not do with Barry. Everyone is on a level playing field here going in. It will work out, it is just something different you aren't used to is all, which is the purpose.

By the way, your score could go into negatives as well. Meaning that if your Bonds gets walked and you have 0 runs you would then have -1 runs and so on...

I will be walking B.B. every time. Including with the bases loaded..

So I would really like some clarification on what the "best Barry Bonds' stats" means.  How are you going to compute that?  Just straight OPS?  Or some formula?  I feel like that should be general knowledge.

Each category will be given a number like rotitisere style. BA, Runs, HR, RBI, SB. IT will be ranked 1-12 for each category, with ties being split into points.

One more question.  Starters still aren't eligible to come out of the pen, right?

Correct. All other survivor rules are still in effect.

I have 8 teams in, if we get them in sooner rather than later, it will just mean an extra day or two to play.
