Yep, I was going to post the same thing. Plus without looking I feel like a premium is put on PG's now as more people are trying to run high AST strategies.. and we see the double PG teams. This leaves some owners reaching to grab PG's in round 4 and 5 that used to be round 6 guys.
I think is the biggest thing. Lots of PG - especially the high-def PG - have seen a steady increase in draft position. Penny is now a borderline 1st rounder (I remember when he was a 4th rounder!), Deron has risen, Rondo has risen, Brandon has risen, Derek Harper has gone from 6th/undrafted to a 4th/5th rounder. The premium on DEF and assists - combined with the rarity of good PGs who can defend - has changed things around. Board loards used to be the prized commodity; now they feel almost a dime a dozen (except for the ones with high DEF, which are still hot commodities).
