I'll be working his conditioning like crazy, probably 20-25 minutes per day, because he really needs to get his stamina up and it'll help get his speed/athleticism up to the 90/90 range. I love having SFs who are speedy and athletic, who can clean up the glass and pass well (not Thompson's strength, but it can be improved in time) and just be all over the court doing everything I need. Until I zeroed in on Fanelli as a possibility, Thompson was my clear favorite recruit. Flex/zone.

"Pretty Boy" Robert Thompson graduates from Fordham with a 3.5 in Business Administration. Known by his teammates as something of a black hole for passes, Thompson's self-regard was far from unfounded. He'll be making money playing ball somewhere, whether it's in the NBA, overseas, or in a boardroom of a Fortune 500 company.

Thompson graduates as the 10th best scorer in Fordham history, the 15th-most productive rebounder (impressive from a small forward), 12th in minutes played, and the 7th most accurate 3-point shooter.

John Jordan didn't win games but he also didn't lose them. Most likely of the group of departing seniors to be the forgotten man, Jordan came into his own, to some extent, his senior season, when coach colorblind79 switched his and Fanelli's positions. Jordan ably ran the team with a fine assist-to-turnover ratio, and snatched an extra rebound or two over opposing PGs every game.

Jordan leaves Fordham 13th on the career list of assists.

With the three players drafted, Fordham's prestige bumps up to a B

Looks like I didn't post a team rating page from the end of the year, so I can't break down offseason improvements.

Ineligible, four stars, #26 SF, #154 overall. I didn't exactly need Williams, but I could use an ineligible guy to help round out my classes, and SFs can really be plugged in almost anywhere. He's also a great player. If he shows up, which he should, Williams is a surefire NBA player. He's going to improve a lot over the years.

Four stars, #33 SF, #198 overall. Boatman was promised 15 minutes, which he'll get. He played zone in high school, which helps a little. Other than needing some work on rebounding, he's a really good SF.

Five stars, #15 PG, #58 overall. Jones is ready to come right in and help, unlike many of the players that I sign. I'm hoping his work ethic helps him rebound. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a ton of room for growth, or that WE would count for more.

Three stars, #62 PF, #252 overall. Criner will be great for me. I had a huge, huge battle for him but I got him eventually. I promised him 15 minutes his freshman year, which might be a little difficult, but I'll do what I can to make sure it works out. His athleticism, speed, and rebounding are all phenomenal for a freshman in my system. His shot blocking and FT shooting are good, and his low post rating is good enough that it should be up in the 90s by the time he's gone. His passing rating is decent.

Four stars, #28 PG, #114 overall. Abate's got huge holes in his game, but he will be redshirting and thus have a little extra time to shore them up. I had a bit of a fight for him, too. I think he'll turn out pretty well in the end.

I laid off of Luis Buchanan when Dartmouth got on him...I like him and think he'll turn out well, but they stupidly knocked me out even though I figured I could protect the player for them just by being on the list of schools he was considering. I wanted him for the Ivy League. Hopefully, he'll get there, anyways.

I like James Monahan but I wouldn't have been able to use both him and Larry Criner, so I was sort of happy to see Boston College show up on his considering list while Criner only had St. Francis, a D prestige school (I desperately would like to know what SF spent to keep me spending like I had to), on his radar. That settled it for me.

I also knocked Dartmouth off of Boatman, which was a lot of the reason I dropped Buchanon. I knew I couldn't afford too many battles so I instead went and got Lance Jones, uncontested. Not a bad deal for me.

I took out some C or C- school from Abate...I don't remember who it was. I had laid claim to him first, and while in the past I would've probably been angry at their coach for challenging me in this situation, this time around I guess I figured I'd try to redshirt Biesenthal if Abate got cut out from under me. He did show up on my campus, though, and I think he'll make a fine backup PG, with one starting year in him.

Every one of the guys I signed, I was on in the first two cycles. I had some backup plans, obviously, and that came in handy when BC came calling for Monahan. I actually prefer Criner for my team. All told I wasted about $7,000 in a season when I had more than $100,000. I feel like I played things well and I'm curious to see what sort of rating my class gets.

Budget Remaining: $9
Scholarships Open: 0

The grade for the recruiting season, by my judgment:

A

I don't want to give myself an A+ because it doesn't feel like I outdid myself, but rather pulled in appropriate people considering my string of success.

I also offered a start and 20 minutes. This team I picked up to test some theories of mine and had picked up 4 (later 5) guys, so I figured I would try and see how much of a difference prestige made. I really liked his FT% for a PF and his work ethic. He would have been a nice addition to my team. Congrats on what I think is a great pickup.
