dmurph- you're hooked. We all are. This game is like coke and we're all addicted. admin doesn't really expect 23 to go away or drop teams. What WifS needs is seriously competition from another HBD like game on the web.

And even is 27 owners leave Cooperstown are all 27 dropping all of their teams- no. And 27 owners are only a drop in the bucket of the entire HBD community. Didn't admin soft response tell you exactly what they thought of the "boycott."

CS only changes if it needs to to- through competition from another website. HBD has a monopoly.

I agree with what some people here have said. I dont think that there has been nearly enough concessions to commissioners. Private worlds should be able to self police more. Public worlds need more policing from WIS because there is no commissioner to help keep the peace or keep people in line.

no im really not. The time I spend on HBD is at a low point. More because of real life than anything..but today notwithstanding, Ive spent way less time on my teams than I should. And if a commish decided to, they could probably boot me in between seasons.

You are talking out of both sides of your mouth. You talk about how WIS wont let a commish run the league because they dont want them driving away a single $25 customer. Then I state the fact that an entire league bailed, and you say its a drop in the bucket. If WIS hadnt backed off regarding the private worlds, their loss in revenue would be more than a drop in the bucket. The delay in rolling worlds alone would have had an impact. And yes, some owners would have stopped playing alltogether.

It's very possible, if not probable, that a number of the "high profile" private worlds would have delayed post-rollover approval in protest, thus cutting off at least part of the HBD revenue stream.

ADMIN knows who the top worlds are. They know who the passionate and influential owners/commishes are. The fact that they not only acknowledged what was going on today, but in fact stepped up, solicited input, and quickly revised their revision to the Fair Play Guidelines shows that they realized that they had erred in their initial response to the particular issue in Coop.

I just caught up on the thread and noticed the post about ericwoody's team in Eckersley. After reviewing, his team has been stripped because, as some of you stated, he was clearly not fielding a competitive team to the detriment of the world by using relief pitchers as starting pitchers even after an earlier warning.

Our goal, as it's always been for HBD, is to put out a great game that we hope others enjoy as much as we do. We love baseball and always have, from Atari to RBI Baseball, Bases Loaded, SNK Baseball Stars (my all-time fave), MicroLeague Baseballl, Tony LaRussa baseball, All-Star Baseball, etc. We watch Baseball Tonight and the MLB Network every night. We have fantasy teams and spend way too much time checking boxscores.

We enjoy making the game better. We enjoy reading and incorporating feedback. We're fortunate we get to make sports games for a living.

Dealing with those that choose to abuse the rules, treat others rudely, openly cheat, lie or disrespect -- none of that is fun. But we always try to be fair. Sometimes, we get it wrong. But we're always open to revisit a case and we'll always try to get it right.

Thank you, tzentmeyer. If egregious repeated violations that violate the spirit of fair play are dealt with then I feel more comfortable and confident.

The bottom line is that if you're in a public world then expect tanking. With the "standards" WIS has set, tanking is perfectly acceptable in Public Worlds. Just another reason to abandon public worlds if you're serious about this game and keeping the integrity of the world intact.

And if you decide to stay in public worlds then you just have to cross your fingers are rollover that a tanker doesn't show up.

so ignorant.

The Man has listened.

Hail People Power!

Hail democracy!

I'm still skeptical. Isn't complaining about CS but then applauding the newly enacted rule "change" akin to complaining about the public schools but hailing a government take over of healthcare?
