The first ligament should be tearing within 24 hours!

High School baseball usually starts at 3pm, sometimes 3:30. He said it's a JV game, and that the opposition (West Hills) might kick their ***. So, since they have a 10-run rule, it could be over by 4pm. Otheriwse, since it is JV, it could also drag ***. I'd say they get done probably between 4:30-5pm.
His "extras" (you know, the players dumb enough to be associated with this) probably have to drag the infield and clean up the dugout first, so add another 15-20 minutes. Then uncleal will probably wait until the coaches leave (lest any sane adult ruin our fun). I'd estimate filming commences approximately 5:15-5:30pm.

When did I say this was JV? (It's Varsity, for the record)

And Coach has already cleared this AFAIK

List of bad assumptions on my part:
1. Any varsity player would risk any future in the game by helping you.
2. Varsity Coach would give approval for this.
3. You would heed my advice on Page 9 and use a scrub off the JV team. Won't you need someone to train how to be Varsity statkeeper for when the school district makes you move on? This would be a good way to get someone started on the training process.

After the requisite 6 weeks in traction, of course.

It's really too bad he's not in college. I've never seen a Professor of Biomechanics have a stroke before.

1 (and for that matter 2 and 3). From all the evidence, the only so-called risk is to the LH2B, namely me. Furthermore, I have done this throw normally before, this will be no different. It's a shame you can't come and watch. Really no risk at all. I'll be fine.

(anticipates the day you all look like FOOLS after watching the video, which should be very soon)

I'm off to bed... CAHSEE ruins the late start Wednesday... Gah...

Just wondering ....
Does "Coach has already cleared this" mean that the coach and the school district have said it's OK as long as uncleal signs a liability waiver clearing them of all legal responsibility in the case of traumatic injury?

It may mean that unc shared some of those special SoCal cigarettes w/coach.

Are you even reading what I'm saying when I say that there is NO DANGER for this (at least, no more than any other baseball throw)?

I still think the coach should get out of there as quickly as possible before this goes down. Parents of students in the school district this is happening in LOVE to sue the district for all kinds of stuff. If the coach stays, it's an endorsement of the stunt and could leave him open to a negligence lawsuit by uncleal's parents.

Someone should send this entire thread to every single TV news station in the San Diego area. They could produce a four-part series on peer pressure on the internet and how it causes irreparable shoulder injuries.

I think we all know how this is going to end......
He's going to end up doing something he said he wouldn't in order to get the ball to 2nd base. My guess is he will get the toss, do a little hop turning his body towards the bag and then throw it.
It will look completely ridiculous, waste too much time, and be a direct violation of the rules he established when he said he could do it...... and then he will try to say "HA! LOOK!"
....... either that or he never posts anything and just hopes that this goes away.

Reading it, and disagreeing with you. If you truly attempt this maneuver (the Exorcist, which is what you're proposing), and if you try to propel a standard baseball 90 feet on a straight line, I believe you're putting yourself at risk of:

(1.) wrenched back
(2.) separated shoulder (or dislocated, depending on arm strength)
(3.) torn muscles in the chest
(4.) whiplash
(5.) ripped up knee ligaments if there is a baserunner involved
(6.) chipped fingernails, if you claw at the ground in agony from the pain of 1-5

This is the greatest idea ever.

If this is what he does, what should we call it? The Chicken Wing? The Line Dance?
