1976 Progressive Draft Thread - DRAFTING Topic

Ok, it's 6:46 PM EST and my time to pick so, with the 16th pick in the 8th round, Kings pick Marvin Barnes.

oh, and I agree that you cant really impose a rule in the middle of a draft though I really do frown on the whole tanking thing as it ruins the spirit and fun of this whole business. basically, I'm going to enjoy my team whether you guys want to do it or not but I hope not. peace out

If someone is going to tank they will find a way. What's the difference between using scrubs and tired, worthless draftees?
Just ask Sam Heinke

EJD is now behind two picks so I'll have to freeze the draft after this round if he doesn't make them up.

Also, I agree with strict penalties on those forced to use  scrub minutes. Too many times I've seen teams start 2-3 scrubs only to get the top pick in a loaded draft.

If you use scrubs more than Xminutes for the season, you should not be able to get a top 3 pick. That number could be around 1200 or 1600 minutes. Or anything else really, just saying, let's penalize it.

I've never once had to use scrubs in a progressive while others trot out starting lineups with Joe Graboski and Boag Johnson in order to get better picks.

I'm more inclined to do something like if you use the scrubs for more minutes than you have to, to make a penalty.

But with that said we are using a lottery for future draft orders just like the NBA so tanking will only get you a 25% chance at the first pick.  I also think it's kind of wrong to penalize people for using scrubs when we are short on minutes so everyone will be forced to use them until the next NBA expansion.

Laker pick Ted McClain, 18th pick in 8th round.

Cleamons was taken in the 5th round by thomcat
Thanks for pointing that out. He was listed as available on the ALPHA list and misspelled on the other. Thanks.
I used that list in making my own, the misspelling was the issue with him being on mine. Thanks for the emphasis on Alpha though.

I'll go through the list to make sure it is accurate.

Are we going to finish Round 8 and then let EJD catch up, or are we frozen until EJD catches up?

Yeah we are freezing.  I'm not sure of how long to give him though.
