Board up to date

Rule Questions......no restriction on playing a player out of position. Also no minimum or maximum number of keepers which includes active roster and AAA players.
I dont like that we can play players out of position. It enables less draft and managerial skills. I think its silly to be playing players out of position. How about a vote??
I've never been in a prog league with that rule, so it never occurred to me to create one. I'm good with a vote. With the amount of AAA players, nobody should be so short on depth that they have no other choice.

Just to note an opposing position, in leagues with no AAA, I never take a backup 1B and when needed will play a spare OF there. I am in another progressive where my 2 catchers only have about 450 AB, and partly through the season I have used someone else there for 4 or 5 games. It is similar to using a spare hitter as a pitcher in a blow out. I see no problem with it.

Lets say we end up with 30 on our team. 25 regular and 5 AAA. And we cut 4 down to 26 after the season. Could we designate 8 of them as AAA so that we could draft 7 in the regular phase. Or would we have to wait until the AAA draft to pick because altogether our roster includes 26? It seems like the AAA part of our roster coul;d cause some confusion. So if you could explain how that will work for 2nd seasons draft that would help me.
Try to think of it like the MLB has a 40 man roster and 25 active players for any one game....only in our case it is a 35 man roster (25 regular + 10 AAA). When you name your keepers at season's end, the maximum number of players you can draft is 35 minus your keepers. In your example, that would be 9 players (35-26=9).

The only reason I created a "AAA draft' was because I figured some owners would feel like they had sufficient depth and might decline to participate in the AAA portion. Wiping those owners out of the draft order prior to the start of the AAA draft would speed that part of the draft up considerably....and also make my job easier since I now know that "X" number of owners aren't even going to participate.

I still do not have anybody that can play 1st base - because a lot of outfielders do fine at 1B. And there are more OF's to pick from. I am also very weak at SS. I have never played in a league were you can't play anybody out of position. So I was drafting thinking that I could use my OF's at 1B. I vote for it being ok to play guys out of position.

I do not like the idea of not being able to play outta position....you somehow end up with Cal Ripken and Ozzie Smith on your team and you can't play them both???? I vote let them play out of their position

I Vote to let players play out of position.

I don’t have a problem allowing out of position player, within reason. Like an OF playing 1B etc. But not a C or OF playing MIF. To me, that’s tanking
