The guy with the cameras already . Out of necessity, the video is CANCELLED.

Tomorrow, I'll stick around and film it during practice.
Let me fill in the rest of the week's posts:

Tomorrow: "Sorry guys, the guy with the cameras came down with food poisoning from the cafeteria at lunch. I'll film it after tomorrow's game...promise."

Friday: "Sorry guys, it's raining today. No game. I'll do this next week...promise."

Saturday: "Oh yeah, it's spring break. The fields are locked. We'll do this after spring break..promise."

March 25: "Sorry guys. While practicing to make sure I impressed you, I tore all the major muscles, ligaments and tendons in my arm. I'm learning to keep score with my right hand."

Time?
At least we have time for a good media blitz. Everyone call news stations and sports talk shows (is 690-AM still the big talk radio of SoCal?) and try to get some witnesses out to whatever-that-field-is, preferably with video equipment (and a sling)

690 flushed themselves down the toilet about 5 years ago. I think they play all mariachi music now.

Contradict yourself much?

It really is mostly likely that this is a very unimpressive video where we see Uncle Al make a throw to 1B, but obviously not doing anything close to what he described. Then he will say "look how easy it is!" And we will say, "that is not what you described, it is a slow, multi-step, awkward video of someone who thinks it is OK to have a -handed throwing second baseman."
There won't be any Exorcist throw, or ninja star throw...just a very unimpressive video that proves what we all already knew.
That said...I'm still really excited to see it. Move your a$$, unc.

No faith. You could be right on the first three, for all I know. I don't have a crystal ball. I'll do what I can. But this video will get done one way or another.

(And I already DO write with my right hand, I simply throw with my )

OK, I sent emails to channel 8 and channel 10 and posted on the channel 7 blog. Here is the email I sent:
Guys, I'm not sure if you can spare a news camera for this, but if any of you are into PROVING a sports theory (i.e. -handers can't play 2B), you should check out this thread on WhatIfSports.com.

http://www.whatifsports.com/forums/threads.asp?ForumID=1&TopicID=175834&PagePosition=1

I guarantee you HUNDREDS of website hits if you send a film crew. I'm going to post this on EVERY San Diego TV sports news board I can find.

i just happened to wander into this forum and wondered what kind of thread titled "y 2b" could span 20 something pages???? I didn't read in complete detail, but I am now have a vested in the outcome..... This thread should be nominated for thread of the year!!! I have no opinion for either side of the argument, but I hope uncleal comes through and blows you guys away......

If Uncle Al doesn't have our video by the end of the week, I'm submitting this to that Mythbusters show. I'm pretty sure they have an online idea recommendation section.

I get to work with Kari Byron if they do it! I'm in the East Bay where they film the show!

I'll make sure to give you a heads up on that one.

51 - Do yourself a favor and go back and read it start to finish. Funniest stuff I've read in I don't know how long.

Agreed. Take the time to read the whole thing. Worth every minute. Can't wait to see this. I still stand by my assertion that any 2b who has the athleticism to pull off this maneuver is better off as a CF, RF, or 1B.
