I always have feared that that much practice would lead to injuries.

I have never practiced on a game day.

Now I'm thinking I'm way behind the development curve.

I am guessing my average of 61 is a bit ghastly, no?

the other thing I did was sort of expand the draft, so I got more than one guy.

1st draft, I took Schoborg 15th overall, he was automatically signed for two years, and he's developed into a stud and he's still only 22.

But I also signed Nazarov, Dacres and Brunell for four years each once they went to the free agent list after being undrafted, and Nazarov and Dacres developed into studs, and Brunell into a useful depth/role guy (for $346K a year). They're still only 21, 23 and 22, but now wanting gigantic money.

2nd draft, I hit on Jollie with the 20th pick, and got him for two years automatically, then signed Muhlstein, Bogdanov, Mussel and Gosset for four years. Muhlstein for just over $2M, he's still only 20 and the #2 goalie in the league, and the most expensive of the others was $717K and the worst of them is 72 overall.

3rd draft, I got Kuzmin 17th (since traded to NY as part o the package for Hilyar - his pick in the 2nd draft), and signed my backup goalie for four years at less than $1.5M and he's only 19 and a 67 overall.

Then I trained all those young pups as above.

While everyone else was signing Hung, Ake, Hunter Rafus, Roberto Antonio, Tise and those guys, I signed Terr and built through the draft.

And if I beat cancer, I'm REALLY going to regret giving that secret away.

I never train on game day but, as previously stated, I suck.

and we are underway

SPARKY with the big move pulling the trigger on Gilyard.

Wolfpack very much in the discussion of the contenders with a goalie 15% better than anyone else's.

And goes right at the defending champs on opening night

Yeah, suck it all! Team salary still under $35 million. Hopefully some of my young guys who have been developing since the first two years step it up this year with more playing time.

And what a horseshit bunch of so-called prospects. YEECH.

I have a bunch of high-potential low-overall guys who I'm hoping that with enough training will develop into long-term keepers. They haven't developed much under my previous training philosophy.
4/7/2010 2:55 PM
My team's average overall is only 71.63.

Holy cow I really improved my Training/Scouting this off-season. I just took a look at the prospects and have 0 question marks where the skill levels are listed.

Brian, I have already gone over what the engine advised me to do in regards to payroll..but I noticied you said you had a 40+mil payroll.

Now I am assuming it is from coin accumulated in previous seasons. I have like $8mil in money (like I said I am already 7-8mil over what they recommended for payroll), but is it okay to spend that money on skaters? Or should I save that b/c I'll need to cover losses, etc.?
