Right, if he gets both then he'd end up with 26 players. And then I guess my question is whether I could take the other version if I wanted to.

Rules say players are exclusive. That would mean only one Angels Ohtani, no matter how he’s rostered.

Just like A-Rod, if picked, could be used as a SS or 3B.

The sim has them in a separate players/seasons. There's a 2022 P Ohtani and a 2022 DH Ohtani, so they'd take up two roster spots. So as mentioned by others, I guess the first question is whether he will just get rights to "Ohtani" and then have to choose down the road, in which case he wouldn't need to declare it, or if the other one is available in which case we'd need to know which one was taken.

As I read the rules, I would tend to agree. One Angels/Ohtani can be drafted and he can decide later which version to use.

Agreed. Dorkster owns one exclusive version of Ohtani rights as an Angel. Can change his mind and use him as a pitcher if he wants to.
