That's a trick question. I don't follow CBB until the tourney starts.

Marquette University, should they be the current Golden Eagles, or do you remember them and want their nickname back to the Warriors, as in the Al McGuire days?

I'm not sure I could care less about the Marquette Golden Warriors.

I'm assuming you've read the Joe Torre book.

Do you think it was a book about Joe Torre as much as it was a book about the demise of The Boss?

Do you think the 2009 WS validates the decision to boot Torre?

Is there any defence for how Torre the organization (or at least his discription of it), or do you think there's another side?

I felt it was more about the inner workings of the Yankees as Joe Torre saw it. And the demise of George was certainly a prominent part.

I like Joe Torre. However, I sort of believe in the Al Davis theory. You have to turn over the management every 10 years or so. Everyone reaches a comfort zone. And, if you're in it, you might not be giving 100% even if you think you are. I don't know if the Yanks would have won the WS with Torre. And I don't know that they wouldn't have.

I'm sure there's another side. However, I'm just as sure that the Yanks were done with Torre. Whether that had to do with his contract demands, management style or just the desire to turn the page, they were done with him.

I often find that books like that leave me with more questions than answers. Do you ever feel the same?

EDIT: Contrast to, say, the recent Cowboys book, which actually filled in a lot of blanks... at least for me.

I don't really seek answers from the kiss and tell books. They'll tell you what they want you to know, their POV, and leave the rest. Read Zimmer's book. It's not really a good read but he was quite the bitter ex-Yank.

What would be your reaction to the headline "Ten country albums everyone sould own"?
3/13/2010 6:51 AM
No one sould own 10 country albums. Unless it's some form of punishment. And I'd assume that country fans aren't fans of edumacation.

24 hours without a question.. is that a new record?
3/14/2010 10:34 AM
I think it is. People only had college BB questions and, as you know, I konw nothing about college BB.

Which song was more painful to listen to more than once, My, My, My, My, My Pokerface or My Umbrella ... ella.... ellla.... ellla.... ? Is there a minimum word count for pop songs?
3/14/2010 4:16 PM
I'm not sure I've heard either. But, for repetitive songs, I think John Mayer(Maier?) wins hands-down. "Say what you gotta say" is repeated about 40-50 times. He obviously has nothing to say.

did you feel unloved when you went so long without a question?
3/15/2010 1:28 AM
I did not. I wasn't around to answer.
