Guys, let's don't find problems where problems don't exist. The best I can tell, everybody is drafting a good and well-rounded team. We're on the home stretch of the draft. Let's finish up and have a great first season and many more after that.

I just reread all the posts in the original Progressive League Thread, and the rules on page 1 here. Nothing was said about whether players could play or not play out of position. There was no rule either way. It was first brought up in the middle of this round. Now people are quitting over it?

Not trying to cause problems but an owner who bails on a league at the end of a draft will not be welcome in any progressive league I’m in ( and I’m in a lot of them) and I will make sure of it.

At least play out this season. Andy has done a great job in running this draft. Drafts like this are a lot of work, don’t make more work for him finding a new owner.

At least play the first season!

Thumbs up to the last 2 posts!

I sitemailed him and tried to convince him not to quit and to warn him that this will give him a bad reputation. I just loaded his team into my spring training draft center and will finish drafting for him if he is indeed gone. Hopefully he'll calm down and stick with us.

Sorry for bringing this up. I wanted to know the rule since the progressive Im in doesnt allow out of position playing. Either way its fine. I just wanted clarification

im with Petroff though in that I tend to draft according to PAs in each position. Not enough to quit over, its fine.

it's no big deal doctorwoo, it is a valid question. i draft by position and getting enough pa's at each as well. my ocd drives me nuts if i play someone out of position!

I’m the same, draft to position for PAs. As I don’t mind a little out of position stuff so long it is needed and reasonable (as I stated).

i definitely don’t want it abused for the purposes of tanking (I think we’ve all seen that) and don’t want to see a 9 man lineup of 7 fantastic hitting Outfielders with a token SS and C either!

Trying to fill out a roster to cover all positions etc is part the challenge and fun for me. Also, the fun is those tough decisions you have to make during a draft. Having to choose between 2 or 3 really good players, do I draft for need, etc etc etc

Serious question, what league doesn't allow players to play out of position?

One more question. Does the first 25 players need to be filling out every position on roster or can the AAA guys do that. Im asking because I need a SS and 3B right now but rather fill them out in the AAA draft, then use them to fill out the roster and put my Xtra pitching ive drafted into the AAA

The other 3 progressive draft leagues I’m in don’t allow it

Also, i thought was the purpose of the real AAA players...to help covers PAs and maybe bury a guy for his future seasons

I've played in several progressives, I've never seen that rule. In fact, I think I've played in one league ever that didn't allow you to play out of position. In my opinion, if someone wants to play someone out of position, be my guest, you're only hurting yourself defensively.

same with btown and his good friend comment
you know on average i will invest over 150 dollars per league
i play in 11 progressive leagues and 2 other season to season leagues
i am probably as quality of a player as you will find
so you run around and start yelling the sky is falling i don't really care brother
