Uh, what doesn't sound right about it? His loyalty is B-, no? I have not applied to jobs lately, but that means auto rejection or at least it use to...

Edit - I am "qualified" as well, but applying would be useless. As a first year coach my B- loyalty won't get me anywhere. Being "qualified" does not look at rep/loyalty, so you may be qualifed based off success, but not off those 2.

This just isn't true, I got a D2 job in Phelan after 1 season in D3, and it was a C prestige school.

What was your loyalty? I am pretty sure you need at least A- rep and loyalty to move up. Again, been a minute sense I have switched jobs, but that is what is coming off the top of my head. With my B- I can't move up and I'm guessing that is whats holding him back as well.

It was after 1 season so my loyalty was B-.

After my first ever season playing HD, at RIT in Knight, with a B- loyalty and a winning season, I applied for and got the SW Baptist job in D II, so I know it can happen, but it obviously isn't going to this time.

I've gotten plenty of jobs with a B- loyalty after 1 season in d-3.

Dacj, something is amiss...you should NEVER get a rejection prior to the beginning of hirings, unless you specifically apply for a job that says that you are "not qualified."

I have 2 apps in for d-2 jobs in Rupp, with a B- loyalty, and I got no such rejection emails today.

I've sent ticket - it said I was qualified for all 4 jobs that I applied (and was rejected) for, so we'll see what happens I guess...

Wrong again Furry. Bad run of HD info for you lately. Basically, all you have to have is a pulse to make the move from D3 to D2. It's not right, but it is what it is.

I'm amazed that you would actually think this. How do you think all the coaches who moved up after the first season of say, Phelan, managed to do that with that B- loyalty?

Hey, at least Oregon football is on fire right now........

i just moved up in Rupp after one season in D3, with B- loyalty.

You guys are wrong. The criteria may have been changed but it now takes 2-3 rounds into the PIT or a NT game to go in one season.

rono, you made the NT, making the NT is enough... PIT is not unless you go several rounds into the PIT... We had a team in our DIII conference that went to the 3rd round PIT that made the jump. My team was one and out and applied to the dredges of DII and got 4 immediate NO's. I was "qualified" for every DII school.

valter got no rejections b'cause he made the DIII PIT championship game... the other guy didn't play post-season at all... he's not going anywhere.

* edit... and VERY seldom do I disagree with Emy,

Yep, they obviously changed the criteria, or maybe the criteria changed based on the # of teams in a given division. Who knows, but I have def moved up before with a losing record in one season of D-2.

In any event, I'm the new head man at Grand Valley State, so glad to be part of the Mega Bowl!

Overall I don't have a problem with them changing the criteria; it was way too easy before. My problem is making a significant change like that without letting people know. That simply shouldn't happen.

I have an old ID that I played 1 season in Rupp a while back and it says I am qualified for all DII jobs. It also says some DII schools are a step backwards. I didn't make the NT or PIT either.
