My probelm is that people aquired players based on what they have done. If only top power hitters are impacted anyone with more power hitters is screwed.

If you are going to take away power do it across the board.

This "problem" exists with every engine change. I had tons of cheap, good, low stamina pitchers on my teams. Ran a 3MT with every team. The fatigue engine change killed all my staffs.

It's life. Deal with it.

If you built a team around 99 power guys.... you know what? They'll still hit lots of homers.

The guy who hits 80 and leads the world will still lead the world, theoretically, but with say 60 now.

Seems like a nice change to me.

And, while you're at it, could you tell us exactly how the engine works? Also, which ratings are more important and how they work together?

Thanks.

sure thing, lets meet in Vegas and dont forget the big suitcase of money.

Agreed. It means I may need to rethink my evaluation of some of these big power guys (and I am not doing anything until I see a season or two of how it actually plays out), but I have no problem with them making the change which should make home run numbers a bit more realistic.

The 100+ stolen base era goes merrily on. (Not a complaint about this change)

All it means is that during the 5 seasons no player will hit over 20 HRs and then it will go back to how it was.
11/3/2009 4:54 PM
I think the 99 power hitters max will be around 58-59 HRs, to parallel Ryan Howard's season 3 years ago

Should we keep the steroids era hitters out of the Hall of Fame? Haul them before HBD Congress? Will my 99 Power sluggers be suspended for their past steroid use? So many questions!

i'm glad this is happening at this time tho. meaning i've got a team in one world that i've built with power and very shoddy defense and have had success in it for many seasons but i'm on the verge of a rebuild as many of my very good players are choosing to go FA. i was already set on going into rebuild mode and now this makes it easier to decide what kind of young players to target. if i went into rebuild mode a seasosn or two ago i'd be a little frustrated.
