Tie-breaker Rule:

For teams tied in their real life winning%, I will have a unbiased person randomly break the tie. The order will rotate (between tied teams) as follows:

Two teams:
Rd 1: A, B
Rd 2: B, A
Rd 3: B, A
Rd 4: A, B
Rd 5: B, A

Three teams:
Rd 1: A, B, C
Rd 2: B, C, A
Rd 3: C, A, B
Rd 4: C, B, A
Rd 5: B, A, C

Four teams:
Rd 1: A, B, C, D
Rd 2: B, C, D, A
Rd 3: C, D, A, B
Rd 4: D, A, B, C
Rd 5: D, C, B, A

I'll take the Mariners

I tried to talk myself into taking a bottom feeder. But we'll go with the New York Yankees

Due to the holidays, the scheduled picks will take a short break after Wednesday (Round 3) and resume on Saturday (Round 4). We can still make draft picks during those days, but no skips. If we get far enough ahead over the next few days, then I'll move up the schedule so we could possibly finish before Dec-24.

ronthegenius is now on the clock.

abfball ruined my planned pick by taking the Yankees. So instead I'll try Greg Swindell

Hitting over pitching. Tony Gwynn of the Padres.

Defense and speed over hitting and pitching:

Ozzie Smith

Alan Trammell over another high-profile shortstop.

This draft is going alot different than the 2009 draft. I guess most teams are all set at pitching.
12/18/2009 11:03 AM
"all set" being a relative term, of course...

Johnny Sain, a much better pitching coach than pitcher once said if you have a choice to spend resources either on developing a strength or on shoring up a weakness spend most of it on a strength because that is what is going to make you a success. That being said my pitching is so weak I had better score as many runs as possible. Therefore at least for this round I drafted hitting. (Now watch me be lucky to score 500 runs this season.)

was hoping to get him . .

Cal Ripken SS

It was a tough choice for me. Would you have taken Trammell if I'd taken Ripken?
12/18/2009 1:54 PM
I'd have been happy with either for sure. Trammell will hit better I think, and I have a decent back-up, so prolly Trammell.
