COlonels, its only a problem when you, wrongly, view the aggregate Ratings number as a ironclad indicator of how suited a team is to winning in general, much less winning a specific game.

Funny how a minute ago he was saying it shouldn't happen because of past results and now he is harping on the ratings? Your arguments get progressively more amusing. Both reasons (past performance and OTRs) support that this shouldn't have happened, and I said that earlier. If you think you're getting 1UP on me, you're clearly missing your mark.

And what I find even better is the fact that after 48932473289427 pages in that one thread he still forgets numerous things, including playing time, ratings aren't equal and the coach's game plan, among many other things. Yep, that'll make up 27 buckets...

It all just goes to show that this guy talks a big game for something he knows so little about. It is you, zhawks, who doesn't see the bizarreness of the situation.

1998, Chicago Vs Utah: Chicago wn one game by 42 points, yet Utah also won twice.

Virginia wasn't that far from being 6 - 10 in conference. I love when people do this kind of stuff..."well they almost won..." yeah, but they didn't...no matter how you slice it, they're 0-16 Also., . . .often on the sim games turn into blowouts because coaches don't have the bench cleared where in real life, they woudl be playing the waterboy and the gap woudl be closed

This means nothing, I already said that real life should be/is going to be more random than the sim because their aren't concrete ratings....this is going back to things I said in other threads.

Thank you for making these forums less enjoyable. Maybe I'll refer it to "furryin' them up"

And that argument, Colonels, is silly,.

End of story. The job of a simulat5ion, however it does it, is to model the real life behaviour of a system. . .including having those sorts of results.

Essentially, Colonels, you are decrying the games reality because it won't cooperate with your ratings systems.

You're the one mucking them up, trying to punk me with information that only further supports my claim(s). You're the one doing this zhawks. I've admitted when you've gotten the colonel, when you've been right....but you're not even close here, and this is the kind of instance that happens more often than not.

Back in the 70's, Virginia had a losing record but knocked off 2 or 3 ranked teams to win the CT and get the bid

If you don't understand how real life is more random than this game, then I can't help you and as usual, I'm done "debating" with you. You bring nothing.

YOu alternate, COlonels, between arguing that its unrealistic and then when someone points out that it has in fact happened, you turn on a dime to argue that it SHOULDN'T be realistic. Make up your mind,.

And with that argument, Colonels, you show an abysmal lack of understanding of statistics and statistical systems.
