I'm usually pretty close to this, but slightly less at HiA/LoA until the draft. I use the draft to fill those levels up by putting TOP draft picks (legit ML potential) directly into LoA, promoting the best LoA performers into HiA, and filling in the rookie squad with lower draft picks (with AA/AAA potential).

Sure you did, fakedeathinahole.

Well, maybe 3. Details.

Mike's right (!) about the minors. You can never have enough.

Here's a good one - I picked up two rule 5 guys, and when I wanted to release one, I dropped the wrong one. Ugh.

Pay attention to contracts. I just claimed a guy off of waivers because he would be a minor upgrade over another guy. For some reaosn I thought he was making $327,000 - noticed he was making $4.8 million when he showed up on my GM screen.

If it shows 327,000 on the WW screen then you are only paying the league min. Look at his player card and it will tell you how much you are paying. He could have been released by the other team and they are paying the other 4.5M.

It looks like I'm only on the hook for $284k and it's the last year of his contract. Not a mistake after all. Thanks guys.

If the players was released.... If he has 2 years , of about 4 mil....is it not true, that you will only have to pay 327,000 for the remainder of the contract since he was released and not waived?

You are correct, philly.

Here's a n00b mistake I noticed being made this year. The guy has a SP with 84 STA who never threw more than 65 pitches in any of his 31 starts. The guy obviously had his pitch count set way too low. Not only was he underusing a pretty good pitcher, but he was also needlessly killing his bullpen in the process. The SP went 2-7 after being well above .500 lifetime and threw about 70-80 innings less than normal. The n00b probably didn't even know to check and adjust his pitch count all year.

PS-I only noticed it when the guy pitched against us in his last start of the season, so I never really had a chance to bring it to his attention previously.

I usually carry 27ish at AA and AAA, 30ish at the A ball levels and maybe 22-25 holdovers at rookie ball. Then after the draft, I push people up so that I'm around 30 at all levels. I carry enough LRs so that I seldom have a fatigue issue.

Might be that his pitch count wasn't changed after spring training. I've seen new players and veterans screw that up -- hopefully they figure it out after an SP throws 35 pitches in the 4th game of the regular season.

What is the quickest way to nullify a trade..... I was bombarded by trade proposals...and was hitting veto..etc.. but I must have hit accept by accident on 1....I sent a message to the owners in trade chat...any other ideas to make sure it does not get approved!

No way to stop it.....You either have to ask him to trade him back (hoping he has a gracious heart), ask people to veto it (hoping they have a gracious heart), or live with it.
