Changes to Reward System Topic

When someone trades you a motorcycle for a moped, you don't worry about the gas in the tank. Thanks, seble and WiS!

Great change. If you're close to a 5-pack w. reward points just convert them. Pretty easy.

Nice work, seble.

Well, for years I've argued that reward points should be done away with period and be replaced by non-expiring monetary credits because you can get "stuck" on a certain number of reward points that you may never be able to use. If you had NEMCs, you could exhaust all of the "rewards" you've earned, always...that's my argument, and I'm still not sure why they haven't done this.

So are you guys pumped to slaughter the inexperienced, new coaches?

Nah, I'd settle for the experienced, mediocre ones like yourself.

You can exchange in reward points for WIS gift certificates though.
Not 1:1, you will always have carryover that just sits there, a reward that can't be used until you get to a national championship game again. Meanwhile the rest of the field that didn't get to that game is able to utilize their full prize immediately.

A NC win is 5800, a $35 GC is 5280, so you are carrying around 520 worth of "reward" you can't do anything with now. The losing team carry's over 250 RP.

I'm good with the change, more useful to 95% of the field, I just think that the top end got a little screwed up is all. At the very least, why not just make the top end equal to those GC values so nobody is sitting around with wasted rewards points? It just seems backwards that the top 2 teams don't get a full reward while the rest of the field does. Keep the stucture, just give game cash to the top two as well, or put them all back to rewards points.

CS's response was "well it gives them motivation to return to the NC game". Full reward would be a greater motivator than a chance to get rewards points that you can't use all of again.

Good change, just needs that tweak.

So you think it would be better if they reduced the amount of reward points going to the NC participants? Or do you think they should raise the reward point cost of the GCs?

Put them up for regular sale then...personally, I've never seen a reason to want to buy a t-shirt or an off-site GC here, but what would be the difference if you're buying these things with NEMCs than reward points? The big problem is that you can get "stuck" with reward points that you'll essentially NEVER be able to spend...some reward...that's the point.

The latter would be preferred, or just put a direct 1:1 value beween RP and game cash, not just $5 increments.

The only problem I have with the change is that I wish the credits could be used for any WIS game and not just for HD.

I agree with this, I don't understand why it has to be HD only.
