Well, 10 right off the bat would be pretty substantial. I believe several more will also leave when they realize the mountain that must be scaled to find replacements.

I knew they would screw this game up like they did hoops dynasty. It was just a matter of time.

As a fellow Coop owner, I fully believe this has to do with us. Its crazy that you can't remove an owner that the other 31 owners in the World believe should be removed.

I completely agree that the concept of a "Private World" is at stake with these changes. Totally taints the game for me......

Maybe their "no exceptions" will be like this one:

When we created Hardball Dynasty, we took a great deal of care making sure there were lots of confirmation boxes and verification steps before any action is performed. The intent was to cut down manual mistakes so that we would not have to spend a great deal of time un-doing user mistakes. This was followed for a long time, but we slowly started to cave.

Due to a recent barrage of these types of manual correction tickets (such as I accidentally released the wrong player or I accidentally demoted the wrong player – please undo), we are taking a stricter approach moving forward as it’s simply taking too much of our time away from developing improvements and additions to the game. That is, we will no longer undo any type of manual mistake.

If there are any parts of the game where you don’t feel enough checks are in place, please let us know and we’ll add accordingly.

This is not to say we don’t want support tickets questioning logic, suggestions, or any other type of support tickets. Those continue to be welcome. We’re simply looking to eliminate the manual mistake correction tickets.

Thank you

Yes, I have two teams in high-ranked private leagues and both commishes have expressed that they may no longer being continue with that duty because of this update. If that is so, I'll be dropping either or both teams and not renewing.

So WifS will be losing my money if this stays put...

This is clearly in response to the multitude of well-publicized incidents recently involving tanking owners.

They're saying that an owner can be non-competitve, start players out of position, have exhausted pitchers pitch 200 pitches, check in once a week, obliterate the minors, blow out arms, mess up the draft, release good players, and probably countless other ways to mess up a franchise for seasons to come that I can't even think of. As long as you win your 41 and run out a pitcher above 50% once every blue moon.

Commishes,

I recommend posting the policy in world chat and encourage your owners to follow through on the boycott, and send in tickets stating their intention to not spend another $ on HBD if they dont allow commishes the power to enforce the league rules.

yeah ive got to say, as a commish of one private world, this absolutely stinks. WIS just opened the flood gates for what some would refer to as soft tanking. what a disaster
4/8/2010 10:48 PM
You are making an assumption. Before you start a widespread boycott, why don't you ask WIS if your assumption is correct?

I'm relatively new to HBD, and this is very disheartening. This is a very enjoyable game, one I have always wanted to play but never knew existed. The repercussions of what WifS is now saying could be devastating those of us who actually want to win legitimately and earn victories. I think the commissioner of every world should have the final say in ALL issues, especially who is allowed in and who should be told to leave. Why admin thinks it has to police this is beyond me. Let commish's boot guys midseason if they are violating league rules and policies. What good is to have a 'private' world if there is no control of said world? Every world will become a public world and we all know what happens to public worlds.

Well done admin. You've really dropped the ball on this one.

By the way, I went in and read the chat for Coop. smoelheim should be given the boot and all other commish's should be warned about him.

Hi Mike,

We updated our Fair Play Guidelines today and have clarified our definition of what qualifies as a tanking franchise as it was confusing and not clear. Smoelheim does not meet the criteria for removal due to tanking and cannot be removed from the league for that reason. A franchise must be violating one of the three conditions to be removed from a world. If smoelheim ever does meet the criteria, please let us know and we'll remove the owner.

If the owner has performed any other actions that violate our Fair Play Guidelines, please let us know and we'll investigate and act accordingly.

They need to change their policy as written. If they dont mean it as nearly everyone is interpreting it, they need to revise it--which is what the boycott is requesting.
