Gonzo's offensive ratings are really not very good. He's maybe a .260 hitter on average. Perhaps a season or two he'll flirt with .300. If you want to call that good, go ahead. He'd be an outstanding utility guy for the bench, starting occasionally. Maybe spelling a tired older better player for stretches.

also- i hate 99 speed when the guy doesn't get on base much.

good and atrocious are pretty far apart imo.

I'd tend to put Gonzo closer to good than atrocious.
While .260 may not qualify as "good". It isn't atrocious by any stretch of the imagination.

I think Gonzo would be a little better than .260, not a Silver Slugger, but has value. I'd play him at 3B and sign the all D SS. Waters would be a nice utility off the bench. And the only hole you would be with is Mario Mendoza sitting at the bottom of your line up. Sounds like you want to upgrade anyways and are just trying to do whats best for now. I'd limit the damage.
