oriole, you just seem to misunderstand what it means to call something a "bug" - an intended result (now matter how silly) is not a bug. A bug exists when something is *not* working as intended.

This is working just how WhatIf plans and expects it to, so it is not a bug. It may well be stupid and be something that should be changed, but asking "how is it not a bug?" does nothing but distract from the question of whether or not how it works (intentionally) is the way is should work (according to users).

That's how it is not a bug.

My question to them is getting at "how/why is this the intended consequence?" ..

It's just a rule in the game that was outlined in the design document and the technical specifications. I can't really give you a reason. It's kind of like asking why do you only start with 3 lives in Super Mario Bros. or why do you start with $1500 in Monopoly.

It's not even close. It's a rule that makes no sense whatsoever. Your basically saying you have a healthy player but we are not allowing you to use him to his full capabilities. It's more likely it was a unintended consequence of the design used to simulate the games and injuries and it hasn't been changed because it's a small percentage of time it comes into play. I'm closing the ticket as to not continue to waste your time, but it would be nice if it was at least looked at changing. I am not the only one who feels this way..

oriole, i owe you one.  my ace was at 70(90) heading into game 5 of the WS, with an auto-rest setting of 98.  after seeing this thread, i lowered his auto-rest to 85 so he wouldn't be skipped.  we won game 5 to go up 3-2, and in game 6 he pitched 5 innings, giving up 1 run to help us win, and knock off a notorious tanker!

Nice, congrats on your victory.  I am down 3-2 right now, but have my ace and runner up to the CY Young going in game 6 and a combo of two good pitchers going in game 7.  The bad news is I am facing the NL CY  Young winner in game 6
