is it just me or does changing tabs take forever Topic

Yeah, it's much slower.

Same slow problems for me also (Standings, Schedule in particular).  And it's not a cookie/cache issue - I cleared all those out and no change in slowness.  (Sent ticket last night.)

The whole site seems very slow and sluggish for me...
9/8/2011 11:28 AM
No, it's not you. It's completely Flippin slower since the last update.

It's not the cookies, the internet options, disk cleanup, or anything else that gets cleaned out with your anti virus program, (I use Norton 360) because I've tried all those, it's the WIS servers because on/or with anything else I do, I don't have the problem. I have Fantasy Sports teams on Yahoo (2 football leagues, and a Nascar League) and another League over at NFL.com.

Somebody over in support/management is trying to blow smoke up our ***.

response yesterday on my ticket

Thanks for your note. The site isn't slower. It may be something within your computer. Please log out of the site, clear your browser's cookies and cache (or temporary internet files) and then close the browser. Open it back up and log back into the site.
If you continue to have problems, please let us know.

Clear the cookies in your browser.
Firefox: CTRL + SHIFT + DEL --> Check the check box named "Cookies" and "Cache"--> Click OK
IE: Tools --> Internet Options --> Browsing History --> Delete --> Click "Delete Cookies" and "Temporary Internet Files"--> Click OK
Note: In IE8 make sure Preserve Favorites Data is unchecked or it won't remove Whatifsports cookies and cache if you have the site marked as a Favorite.
Their response is dumbfounding and shows how out of touch they really are.  Maybe a link to this thread is what they need to see.  And maybe someone over there needs to try logging in as a coach looking to modify his gameplan and such just to see for themselves how much wasted time their news servers are creating.

You should submit a link to this forum thread in your ticket. Usually when they see something like that they actually look into the issue.

Will ticket later, but going insane with the slow speeds as well.  I can walk away, and grab a drink sometimes just trying to check the standings.

EDIT: I feel like I'm back at my parents house in '95, waiting for the modem sounds to clear, and then hear: "WELCOME!  You've got mail!"

Yeah at first I just assumed there was something up with the internet here at work... guess that isn't the case.

It was really slow at home this morning, but at work (on a much older computer), it's zipping right along

CS says they will look into it

I've cleared cookies etc etc.  Nothing has changed on my computer.  Very large difference in pace of response esp for tabs listed above - including when changing teams when those tabs are open

I'm on a very fast connection at work and changing teams with standings open just took 10.5 seconds.

Changing teams with in box open is fast - as it always was.

Something has changed for the worse

I got this reply...

Thanks, we're aware of the issue and are investigating.

Glad it's not just me.

got the same cut and paste response today when I ticketed yesterday. You know I would care about the problem much less if they didn't consistantly point the finger at the users instead of stepping up and saying they need to fix something on their end. Especially in light of the relevatory (not) site team posts telling us what we already knew, they haven't been paying much of any attention to the site for quite some time. we know, we knew, quit blaming us for what is clearly a site issue...
