It's really pretty unimportant.   Because, in 10 years, we'll have thousands of teenage girl singers saying "Lady Gaga was a huge influence on me."
Laddy Gaga didnt do anything that Madonna didnt do better.

And do you actually think Rush is a bad band?

Do my first sentence and replace Gaga with Rush and tell me who they imitated?
Doesn't matter.  Thousands of pre-teen girls who will sing later in life have never heard of Madonna.   They've heard of Lady Gaga.

Yes, Rush sucks.

Every band imitated someone except for the first two cavemen who banged on a rock in unison.    And they may have been imitating a dinosaur when they started doing that.

They may have been trying to bang the first caveman groupie

Rush very definitely has influenced many bands:
Triumph, Dream Theatre, Wolfmother are three that "rush" to mind.

Kirk Hammett, Billy Corgan, Les Claypool, Danny Carey from Tool, Zakk Wylde, Trent Reznor,  Tim Commerford from Rage and Audioslave, as well as Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters all claim Rush as a big influence.

Even after I lost the will to listen to Geddy's voice during the 80's, I still have to admit, musically, the band is nothing but exceptional.

When I listen to Wolfmother, I hear a lot of Black Sabbath influence, moreso than Rush.

Geddy Lee is the winner of 6 "Best Rock Bass" awards by Guitar Magazine, Neal Pert won 9 "Best Rock Drummer" awards in Modern Drummer Magazine, And Alex Lifeson won 3 "Best Rock Guitar" awards from Guitar Magazine.

I realize that isnt what the forum is asking, I am not sure if anyone gives out front man awards, but I think it goes a ways in dispelling the myth that Rush sucks!

"Neal Pert"

Do you get paid by the misspelling?

So that was all you got out of that?

You probably yell at kids to get off your lawn!

It's tough to overlook Ozzy as a front man:

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
In doing a little research on this I read a "Rolling stone" article about the top 100 singers.

Bob Dylan is #7.

I can respect his knowledge and writing but singing??

Dont you have to have someone understand you in order to be a singer?

KRS-One was a good front man for BDP

Tribe didn't really have a "front" man per se but if you had to choose one you would go with Q-Tip

Chuck D was bad ***

Wu tang had so many they had rza, gza, odb, inspectah deck, raekwon, u god, ghost faced killa, masta killa and method man.

Marky Mark was good for the funky bunch, too
