Spice up the draft (late rounds) Topic

When I get up at 6 AM, I'm not bidding on future AA players.   I reject your Doomsday scenario also.

Aren't you suggesting the same thing with your "get rid of the rounds after 10" scenario. Got to get your players somewhere, assuming you need players for the rookie squad. Who said get up at 6 for useless players.

I'll sign undrafted FA before the RL season begins.   I won't rush to the pool to do it no more than I jump to sign my 25th pick.   Most of my RL teams consist of 11 position players and 19 TC pitchers.

I am not sure what "Doomsday" I am supposed to be talking about.  It is very convenient to have my Rookie League team fill from the draft.  I already have a formula to set my draft before I go in and make manual changes at the top.  This way in the later rounds I get the best guy available via that formula.  I sign around 15-20 of my picks every year.  Because I just go down the list and accept the deals of all the guys who aren't asking for too much it is very easy and in 2 minutes my RL team is filled in most seasons.

To make a change to only 10 rounds you are forcing guys to go through the signing process for each RL scrub individually.  Why would I want to spend anytime on that?  Making changes to the game should add to the value, not create an annoyance IMO.

Uh, signing undrafted FA is the same process as signing draft picks.     What, exactly, would you be forced do differently?

This is your Doomsday scenario:  "If the undrafted FA auto-accept then those owners who get on at 7 am get first dibs."

This is my response:  "When I get up at 6 AM, I'm not bidding on future AA players."

Mike was in a "doomsday" mood when he responded last week.

It's just that people are pretending that the early risers will log on and rush to the UFA list to get the "best".    I suppose it's possible that someone will but, yay, they'll have the best AA team in three seasons.
