I wish I could say "I'll say this one last time" but I know there will be three more EE threads before the weekend so................there is the real possibility that EE is working as intended. Guys like lakevin, and this is a compliment, complain constantly about EE but continue to succeed. Are they really being "punished" or "hindered"? They seem to keep on winning under the current system. Does it need to be "fixed"? Or do others need to figure out what they're doing?

I'm beginning to think it's the latter.

It's not figuring anything out... It's just unfair. I still win at Clemson. I am A-, what do you think, been there forever, I get the préférences my way.

But instead of competing, because of bad luck, I am top 20. Why am I top 20 while another team, with more EES than me, with greater odds of losing them get lucky. Where is the strategy in that? It's luck. A game based on too much luck builds frustrations.

Life is unfair. You suck it up and move forward. No?

I moved on. But instead of competing for the NT, I will have to settle for a second round exit or a lucky S-16. I move on, I will continue with my strat and hope everything click at the same time.

But Mike, do you plan for the NT? I do. I could play to play... In that case, I would not mind, I would just check stats.

I wish Luke Maye one of the two walk-ons I got.

I took a team in Rupp to move to D1 as our Smith group decided to stay in D3 to compete against one another.

That said, I understand how it works. You get great players, they might leave early. I intend to back up and regroup when that happens. I'd rather do that than be the internet whiner about how the game is ******* me over. The game is the game. You play it. Constant ******** and whining is pointless. But, if that floats your boat, keep at it. It's an open forum.

Not if they made changes based upon the whining. That's a big IF.

People ******* and whined about how the B6 teams had too much power and couldn't be beaten. Took them many years but they did finally make a change.

If I made changes based on constant ******** and whining, I'd have no employees, no customers.

Change due to constant ******** and whining is a failed business model.

And WifS might be an example sooner rather than later.

Ok. The ees thing does not work. We all know it. Someone needs to acknowledge it so we move on.

Of course it's possible, but until said coach has to actually scramble trying to replace the player(s) that they lost, they just don't get the actual full effect of what other coaches are saying/suggesting/complaining about.

Having played at high level D1 for many seasons in Tark (and other worlds), I can say from personal experience that EE's are far too random. Just one example, at Duke I recruited the #1 rated SG who also happened to be the #1 rated player for that particular season. The #1 overall player mind you and he stayed all four years. Was I happy? Of course. Was it realistic? Very much not. The guy ended up with a final rating of 1062 and he decides to stay four seasons while I watch far more inferior players declare early? Yes, I understand that there are examples like that in real life as well but this isn't real life.

Now that mid-majors and lower actually have a chance at signing some of the big boys, I personally wouldn't be opposed to doing away with EE's altogether. I'm sure I'm in a very small minority there but it "does" eliminate the problem, no?

This is basically how I feel about the people who complain about user's 'whining' about EEs and then get told they've never experienced it so they don't understand.

It's like if you ran a marathon and you're talking to a buddy. Let's call him "Mike".

You- "Wow this marathon was so hard, I barely made it to the finish".
Mike- "I ran a 10k a couple weeks ago. It wasn't bad. I'm sure a marathon isn't too much harder."
You - "They're not similar at all. Until you do a full marathon, you can't really understand what it's like"
Mike - "Do you think you just invented running!?! Get over yourself you cocky a-hole!"

I'll try to put this as simple as I can. You recruit a great player. You should know there is the possibility that he will leave early. If he doesn't, good for you. If he does, he leave a big hole in your line-up. It will be very difficult to get a comparable player to replace him because you don't get the resources until he declares.

Am I missing something?
