OK, after talking about this with kelly1, I have an idea about what I am going to do about this for NEXT seasons draft.

When an owner signs up for this league, they will get a sitemail from me informing them to check their sitemail REGULARLY because they will need to know when the draft starts. Once we fill up and I have set up Page One of the draft, I will send everyone a SM that we are starting.

After that point, round one will still be off the clock, HOWEVER, if an owner doesn't make their selection when it is their turn within FIVE hours (if they have opened their SM informing them that we have started), or TWELVE hours (if they have not opened that sitemail), that they will then be SKIPPED.

We can't do that now, but next draft we can. Something needs to be done about this. kelly1 points out to me that we have taken longer this draft to get to where we are now, than it took us the whole 1st round last draft (and I'm sure all the other drafts as well)

I am all for the new rule, just thinking ahead though, will this still apply if say the prior pick is made at 10 pm or will there be a cutoff time? My suggestion would be the clock stops at 10pm and starts again at 7am? So if a pick is made at 10 pm or after the next pick would need to be made by noon to avoid being skipped.

Yeah duece that is an excellent point. I would say that 10 pm to 10 am would not count toward that rule. Again, this would be for future drafts, and not this one.

Who's around for a proxy?

You can always send one to me. I am especially available to post mid afternoons til late night. The others who are very good about posting proxies are kelly1, ejstockman, elmerk, daddyzander, ledfoot and duece_duece. Others may be too but I don't see them do it as often as the ones I mentioned.

The general rule is to just send a proxy list to at least THREE other owners and it will usually always get posted that way, especially if they are just after your spot--theory being that they will be ready to pick themselves and should be on the ball.

Are we looking for a replacement owner?

Well it has been 24 full hours since the last pick, which is my general rule for action in an off the clock first round. jbar opened his sitemail on July 29th that we are starting, and this is inexcusable that 24 hours should go by without his pick. So that we can move on, here is what is going to happen.

1. I will make the pick for jbar8888
2. If & when jbar8888 shows up, he will have three choices:
a. be happy with the pick I made, keep it and we move on with him drafting the rest of his team
b. He can immediately make a different selection and my pick goes back in the bone pile and move on with him drafting the rest of his team
c. decide he doesn't like the pick, get PO'd that we didn't wait longer, and decide that he is out of the draft
3. If C happens, then either I will take on two teams or we will attempt to find a replacement owner.

With all that being said, for jbar8888, I will take
