Question: What about players on the DL for 1973/2003?

Example - SS Rick Auerbach is a Milwaukee Brewer in 1971, 1972 and 1973, but in 1973 he does not play enough games to be WiS eligible. So, whoever owns him will probably put him on the DL for the year. Can I take him if he is not protected?
