As usual, Trump lied, but somehow it is not his fault.
If you're saying he lied when he said he'd find a way to have Mexico pay for it, then yes, he did.

If you mean something else, you are totally wrong. He's doing everything possible to get a wall built. Anyone with an IQ of 1 (which means even most of our Liberal friends here) knew Trump couldn't wave his magic wand, or click his heals twice, and have a wall built. They knew it would take the cooperation and compromise of others to get it done. Unfortunately, those who could (should?) be cooperating and compromising, are instead playing political games and holding Government workers as their game pieces.

I don't disagree with all3 much (at least his last comment lol).
Trump did lie again. That's not unusual for him though. His lies to us Americans are numerous and may be treacherous...........we'll find out eventually.
BUT, he IS doing everything to get his wall built. Everything he can think of, INCLUDING holding the Government hostage to try and bully Congress into his will.

The "political games" BEGAN with his decision to hold us hostage. This whole shutdown is a political ploy of the cretin in the WH!
He HAS to fight for his wall (no matter how stupid!!) because of his campaigning to the least common denominator of his audience. "Build the Wall" pandering has now put Trump in a corner of his OWN incompetence. No wall, and there goes the support of his base-------- the mass uneducated racist deplorables that make up most of his voting base!

My fave thing the trumpets do now is saying that Dems are “against border security” because they won’t let a petulant child have his way. They simply are intelligent enough to know there are a LOT of other, MUCH more prudent ways to improve the border situation.

He did this. NO ONE ELSE.

His supporters need to nut up and own it.

They backed a nag in a race of stallions.

He’s gonna be glue soon.

Why should Dems "cooperate and compromise" to fund a wall that (a) is not needed and (b) will not address the illegal immigration problem?

Illegal border crossings have been declining steadily for decades, and are at a 45 year low. The majority (65%) of undocumented people living in this country arrived in the country through legal means (visas), and then disappeared.

Why is a wall needed for any reason other than to appease a political base who apparently are incapable of understanding actual facts?

800,000 federal workers received no paycheck yesterday because ONE PERSON is holding them hostage as pawns in HIS political game.

Not even the brainless drones who support this idiot should be proud of that.

Dems should cooperate to end a shutdown that they didn't start, and do a policy that a majority of Americans don't support.

Does anyone else just want to say to these trumpets begging for "cooperation and compromise"...

MERRICK GARLAND

And #WalkAway...

Talk about TURNING a phrase.

Dems should just STFU and stay out of the way. The din from the WH will get more and more frenetic and sillier and sillier and more and more stupid until he just...........................????? wigs out??

I remember watching the sweat bead on Nixon's upper lip. Sad thing to see when it's the head of OUR Country having to squirm and sweat and say **** like "I am not a crook"................... Embarrassing even. Never thought I'd see that again................. but then, Bad B movies seem to run endlessly...........

Whether Trump is doing what he said regarding the wall and whether the wall is needed or are two different issues. Which one are you arguing? NOT the same one that was being argued. I do "LOVE" your typical Trump-hater view though - you are entitled to your opinion, but people who oppose you aren't entitled to theirs.
You don't think Trump's policies and pushing the issues has had something to do with deterring illegals? Just how much do you think illegals cost the USA (in things like health care, other subsidies, lost jobs, wasted hours by law enforcement, etc) each year? Also, where'd you get your 65% figure, as it is at least 8% higher than the three figures I could find?
You don't think Trump's policies and pushing the issues has had something to do with deterring illegals?

No. The amount of illegals crossing the southern border has been declining for decades, long before Trump's "policies and pushing the issues". But now, after 23 months of Trump in office, things have suddenly risen to the point of his considering this a "national emergency"?

Also, where'd you get your 65% figure, as it is at least 8% higher than the three figures I could find?

Right here.
  • "Overstays accounted for about two-thirds (66 percent) of those who arrived (i.e., joined the undocumented population) in 2014."
  • " Overstays have exceeded EWIs (entries without inspection, i.e. border crossings) every year since 2007, and 600,000 more overstays than EWIs have arrived since 2007."

So you distorted the figure terribly - it doesn't say 66 percent of all illegals in the Country came on Visas - it says that was the case for 1 individual year.
What % of those who came before 2007 were "true" illegals? Did they magically disappear, or are they still here? If Trump tried to distort #s like you are (and he does, as do ALL politicians), you'd be having a cow. Go enjoy some college basketball and then some NFL football, instead of obsessing over trying to slander the POTUS with misrepresented figures.

Let me make an analogy for you. You probably won't understand or won't agree (because you're one of Trumps drones), but I'll make it anyways,

1) The rising cost of healthcare has been a problem in the US, and a number of people could not afford it. The Obama administration pushed through the Affordable Care Act (i.e. Obamacare) to address it. It solved some problems, but overall it was a poorly thought out and implemented solution which really was no solution at all, as it completely avoided the true root cause of the healthcare issue in the U.S., which was out of control costs. In short, the ACA is a non-solution which completely missed it's mark. But supporters of Obama love it, because it's their guy and their party who did it.

2) Illegal immigration is a problem. Trump is trying to build a wall at the southern border to address it. It may deter some border crossings, but certainly not all. But overall, it's a poorly thought out solution to the real problem with illegal immigration, which is visa overstays. The wall essentially is a non-solution to illegal immigration that completely misses it's mark. But supporters of Trump love it, because it's their guy and their party trying to do it.

See how that works?

To put it another way . . . the wall is just Trump's version of Obamacare. The wrong solution to a problem.

Another study says that over that past 10-15 years or so, the overall number is 65%. If I find the time to look for in in between "watching basketball and NFL football", I'll post it.

It's funny that you are defending your boy over what you are claiming are "misrepresented figures". That's really funny.
