Analogy.

You can toss the ball to yourself and hit the ball far; or you can have a pitch thrown and you’ve got to hit it.

or you can have a softball under hand tossed to you.

Every method works for hitting a home run, but only one should make you feel successful.

That said; if a user moves divisions I can’t fault anyone for taking a team in a good position. It’s just not my style.

I definitely learned a lot winning my first title. Not only game planning, but player management and career moves.
The next title will be attained under different circumstances. And there will be another...I'll just focus on building one program, my way, with my players.
Thanks for all the comments, positive and otherwise. Even a win is a learning experience.

What do you mean by player management and career moves?

Player management: just paying closer attention to SH minutes, trends in their game-to-game stats, +/- settings.
Career moves: I've moved around way too much in Knight and Phelan. The reason Stevenson was recruited so well by Mahomes is that I left to take a break. My best runs of postseason success have been when I've stayed at one school for quite some time. Oberlin College. King's College. Stevenson University. I've found recruiting is easier when that long-term Coach preference is in my favor.
The plan is to play out my seasons in Phelan and Tark and concentrate on my King's team in Knight.

Nothing really major. Just paying more attention to the little details that I've in the past maybe skimmed over.

paul, its definitely a good idea to stick around programs for a while. it takes 4 seasons to get your players in and often 2 cycles (8 seasons) before you get to the point where you are fully up to speed (say you take a c+ team and get to a+ in 4 seasons and then you start recruiting at your best, or whatever).

basically this game is complicated and its helpful to have some vision for your program you are trying to implement, and then when you get a team that achieves it, you get feedback and tweak things and have a new plan. but if you are playing in some circumstance where you aren't really trying to implement your vision yet - you are doing the up front grunt work just to get in the position of being able to try your vision - you usually aren't making much progress, in terms of progressing as a coach.

nothing wrong with jumping around and stuff but its definitely good to have at least 1 program where you are 'at your best' and working on that vision of yours.
