I still don't understand how say, $90M is considered "low-cap," when actual winning teams tend to average around $7XM. That mean looks pretty "medium," to me.
Personally, I am tired of this argument. The salaries assigned to real teams in WIS have nothing to do with the structure of the game, which is a better point of reference for defining relative salary ranges.
Max Cap: 255
Min Cap: 40
Range: 255 - 40 = 215
Thirds: 215 / 3 = 71.67
33rd percentile: 71.67 + 40 = 111.67
So, really, Low should be defined as 110M or lower, Mid should be 110M - 180M, and High should be above 180M. Since there is a smaller set of players who have salaries high enough to use in very high cap leagues, we compress those ranges downward for the WISC to allow for both more variety in rosters and also more choices / complexity when building your rosters.
