LEGACY ( YOU CAN TAKE ANYBODY FROM FRANCHISE BEFORE 1950)
TERRITORIAL (HAS TO BE AN INCOMING ROOKIE,BUT,1. MAYBE YOU TAKE ONE WHO ONLY STAYS A SEASON OR TWO, LEAVES, AND THEN A BETTER ONE MIGHT BE THERE OR 2. MAYBE YOU PICK A ROOKIE WHO IS NOT WIS ELIGIBLE TILL HIS 2ND SEASON, IR HIM FOR A YEAR, AND DRAFT AN EXTRA PLAYER) THOSE ARE THE ONLY WORK AROUNDS. some FRANCHISES MAY DO ONE THE FIRST SEASON.

What if there is no rookie pitcher that season. In my checking that came up for one of the franchises choices. Also, your example on the first page shows a Roberts playing till 61 and the rookie pickup also starting in 61. Shouldn't the rookie come from season 62?

Roberts would be on my active roster every year from 1950 through 1961. I would then replace him with a rookie Phillies Pitcher (Jack Baldschun 1961-1965.)

CORRECTED THE ROBERTS EXAMPLE ON PAGE 1

if NO ROOKIE PITCHER, FIRST WE CHECK BOTH BASEBALL REFERENCE, AND BASEBALL ALMANAC.. CHANCES ARE A PITCHERMADE A DEBUT AND IS NOT WIS QUALIFIED. IF SO WE USE THE IR EXAMPLE ABOVE. IF NOT, WE GO TO THE NEXT YEAR PICK A ROOKIE PITCHER, IR HIM FOR A YEARJUST LIKE ABOVE.

GUYS STOP PANICKING

ORIGINAL TERRITORIALS SHOULD BE LONG TERM FRANCHISE PLAYES -. ROBERTS WAS NOT A ROOKIE IN 1950 EITHER

WHEN THEY LEAVE YOUR FRANCHISE - REPLACE THEM WITH A ROOKIE - HOPEFULLY ONE WHO WILL BE THEIR FOR A WHILE - BUT IT WONT ALWAYS WORKOUT.

can you replace your territorial with another rookie any season you want?

That's what's holding me up. Since you keep the 50's and rookies for their whole franchise life we miss out on good rookies and end up having to select scrubs. If we could drop them anytime that might be interesting.

Bpamaco and Rufus your original territorial players don’t have to be rookies in 1950, they just have to be on the 1950 team, but when they retire, then the new territorial guys must be incoming rookies. So no need to change the original guys.

The purpose of the legacy and territorial players was to simulate real life. to give your franchise continuality, and identification with the real teams. I even mentioned in my original post that Roberts had some bad years. that is like real life. So no you cant drop them at any time. You have 22 other players to do that with. They stay with the franchise till they leave in real life, both good and bad years. Somebody mentioned that they wanted Koufax in the future, pick a relief pitcher who will leave in time to get Koufax.

Full rules will be posted tonight, bakc to work
