In normal twist leagues, you can twist anyone from baseball-reference even if they didn't have a WIS season the initial team. Can we draft those types of players (obviously they would become one of our 9 twists)? If so, what salary do they count at?

I don't think so. We actually have to roster the twisted player we draft (the salary of the season we draft is only needed to calculated draft order). Otherwise, everybody would draft cheap versions of players, twist to expensive versions and have a salary of $160 million or higher.

Yeah I get we have to roster the twisted version and that's what counts against the $120m cap.

But someone just drafted Matt Harvey's $218,000 season. I assume he'll twist him, but for purposes of the DRAFT, he counts as $218k.

My question is: if someone like Harvey played for the team that year but only threw 24 innings, so no WIS season, can you still draft him? In a normal twist league, you usually can. But seems like maybe not for this league.

just saw bheid posted all the player lists, so given he only listed WIS seasons in there, I think that answers my question

Yep, since you can't roster the 24-ip version, then you can't twist to the team that 24-ip version plays for.

Yeah, that's the way I understood it. You draft any player from the wis database, and his salary counts toward your draft position in future rounds. After the draft you twist him to the season you want and his twisted salary goes toward the $120M cap. Baseball-reference does not factor into it.
