FCD Cup XIX - How About A 3rd Sudden Death? Topic

There were three more morning games to get us up to date as the rest of the schedule is afternoon and evening contests.

Las Vegas Scorpions F.C. move to a win away from clinching a transfer spot as they pound the crutchanators of soccer 5-1 in Group G. crutchanators have been having defensive issues the entire tournament and gave up another big number to the Scorpions, who simply have their number. Swede Leif Bbjornstrand scored twice to lead Vegas and Borivoj Fales duplicated his opening output between the two teams by adding two more, while crutchanators' Raymond Vela accounted for their only goal. The win improves the Scorpions to 9 points while crutchanators and Not Very United will be battling for the other transfer spot since Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond will be totally outmatched in every group game.

A pair of Group F games saw Hardknoxs F.C. save their tournament as they beat group leader FC Not Very Athletic 3-2, preventing Athletic from virtually assuring themselves a playoff spot in the process. Hardknoxs went down a man when Jonathan Guillen lost his mind and committed two yellow cards in a span of three minutes to get the early shower. Regardless, they were able to score short-handed off a rocket shot by Windham Kent in the 32nd and then hold off Athletic for the rest of the game by packing it in the box and clogging up the passing lanes. Hardknoxs is still facing a must win in their next game but they now have some hope.

The other Group F game was a 4-2 SwampDragons United triumph over Jonzo's Gongers to move Swamp U into a solid 2nd place. Rico Reyna gave the Gongers a 2-1 lead and the game stayed that way all the way until the 83rd minute when the Gongers defense suddenly lost cohesion and yielded three goals in three minutes, wasting the effort and losing all three points. Cup XVI Golden Toe winner Jerrad Forko finished off the flurry with a shot from point blank range that just got past Gongers goalie Gilberto Fajardo and across the line to end the scoring.

There are a couple of 1pm games that I''l post in the afternoon but most of the remaining day's action is at 7pm, so it will be a large and delayed wrap-up to the action sometime tonight.

Quick update as the 1pm games are now in the books.

In the upset of the day, the lowest ranked team in the tournament Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond.lost its opening game in Group G to Not Very United. The upset was that they were actually competitive, which should not have been the case. Henricus-Lambertus Elia and Aaltje-Alexandersdr Jans had The Orange up 2-0 before the world started spinning on its axis again. Tate Papia had to create some late game magic to break a 3-3 draw in the 84th with the winning header to prevent the Canadian club from wasting what should have been a gift three points. Not Very tenuously moves into the 2nd playoff spot in the group..

Southeast Indiana Football Club wins its 2nd game in Group C with a 4-2 win over Metropolitan Eagles, who have not had the best start to Cup XIX. The Screaming Eagles got within one when Rune Rudkilde hit a glancing header to make the score 3-2 right before halftime but Indiana got the insurance goal in the 56th thanks to Zowie Champneys and walked away with all the points. Indiana now sits atop the group with 6 points while the Metro Eagles fall to 0-2-1 and probably need to go undefeated the rest of the way in order to advance. wins.

The end of the longest day in Cup history has finally arrived. Unlike my prediction, no team clinched a playoff spot so on to tomorrow we go to see who gets the first golden ticket.

As far as the results were concerned, BC Timber Wolves met the defending Champs and sent them home with a loss as they won 4-2 over Rushmore FC in Group A action. Never trailing, Watkins Klotz gave the Timber Wolves the lead in the 16th and the newcomers trade punch for punch to win a majority decision. Veteran defender Ty Evan was able to score a pair to keep it close but Jeovânio Javier Pedro scored from downtown in the final minute to shut the book on the Cup XVIII winners. BC jumps to the top of the table, although both Rushmore and Swampdragons FC have a game in hand.

Godai Hiroshima and Brighton AFC played to a 3-3 draw in Group B where all four teams have good chances to take the top spot. Godai should have won the game as an early red card put Brighton playing virtually the entire game down a man. It looked as if it was going to be an easy victory as the Japanese squad took advantage and jumped to a 3-0 lead after Crosleigh Edwin's goal in the 55th but it somehow wasn't enough. Brighton scored three shorthanded goals in the final 20 minutes as a Jamil Ambrose tally in the 88th was enough to split the points, sending the 34,237 in attendance home shaking their heads.

Another draw came out of Group D where North Polar Dragons FC and Bad News drew 2-2, which was good enough to send News to the top of the standings with 7 points. After News took a 2-1 lead off a Xever Mariano Andrés header, North Polar got the equalizer when Isdel Rosas scored from right in front of the goal face to have the teams split the points. The News defense is still playing tough, having given up only three goals in three games.

Hardknoxs F.C. staved off elimination for a 2nd game in a row by beating Jonzo's Gongers 4-1 on the road, as they improve to 2-3 and place the Gongers in a tough spot for advancement out of Group F. After both teams traded goals in the opening minutes, Hardknoxs pulled away from the Portuguese club by halftime when Javaughn Galey painted the upper corner. The Gongers produced a ton of offensive chances but Hardknoxs goalie Gervase Hyland was standing on his head as he made an amazing 17 saves to take the player of the game honors.

To wrap up the day, my two teams were soundly beaten as both of them will be heading to the Bums Bracket barring a miracle. Merchiston FC hammered Fußball-Club Köln 01/07 e. V. 6-1, taking the series by a total of 12-3 in Group H. 72 year old Thomas-VanLuijk De Meyer went off on the hapless Germans as he scored 5 times. Cologne goalie Sein Flórez was definitely not the player of the game, although he did make 9 saves. In Group G, the crutchanators of soccer beat Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond by a score of 4-1 to give the young Dutch national team their 2nd defeat of the day. Henricus-Lambertus Elia once again game the Orange an early lead before the better team took control. crutchanators had a balanced attack as four different players netted in the win, including a volley by Rami Kilpela that caught Dutch goalie Gijsberts van den Ouweland flat-footed.

There are another 12 games tomorrow as I have another busy day.
6/22/2026 9:24 PM
Before I do a morning update, looks like I missed a game on the 21st out of Group C, probably because it was the same final score involving the same team. Swamp City Dragons had earlier that day played to a 2-2 draw against Metropolitan Eagles. Their evening game was on the road against FC Winnipeg Royal Lions where they, once again, played to a 2-2 draw. All four goals were scored in the 1st half, with Fernandez Jaimes and Firenze Széll doing the damage for the Royal Lions and Arley Movsisyan and Stephen Gregorini getting the job done for the Dragons. The draw tightens the race in the group with the top three teams separated by only 2 points.

If you ever see an error in the standings or a missed game, don't hesitate to point it out tome. I do this all by hand and an extra set of eyes is appreciated.

I'll post some of the overnight action in a bit.

We finally have our first playoff team as FC Not Very Athletic earns the blue highlighting after their 1-1 draw with SwampDragons United to take one of the Group F transfer spots. Athletic didn't generate a lot of offense but they did just enough as Lindsay Hynes did his best Diego Maradona imitation and weaved his way through the defense to score in the 43rd. Swamp U salvaged the tie late when Roger Alice controlled a corner kick, got it down to his feet and fired a shot in the 83rd that split the points. Swamp U is in a good position to grab the other transfer spot as they have 7 points with two games remaining. Hardknoxs F.C. must win and pray and, while not mathematically eliminated, Jonzo's Gongers is probably heading to the consolations.

In some of the other games, Swampdragons FC improved to 2-0-1 in Group A after a 2-0 shutout of Wolfsburg Dynamit, another team that is effectively eliminated. Swamp FC was never really threatened as Charlie Bardon got the insurance goal late to avoid any last minute heroics from Wolfsburg. The top three teams in the group all look pretty even and one of them isn't going to advance. Also, Swamp City Dragons crushed Southeast Indiana Football Club 7-1 in Group C, putting them on the verge of claiming a knockout round invitation and ruining Indiana's goal differential, which was good up till this point. Arley Movsisyan scored another two goals as the 122 year old moves up the Golden Toe leaderboard, trying to win a 2nd trophy18 Cups after he won it the first time. Duardo Malave got the lone score for Indiana, who probably needs to win their last game and then wait and see.

The final two games of the morning saw FC Kingston get a win over Slough FC 2-1 in Group E. Slough is playing well in every contest but can't get the results as they fall to 0-2-1 after their 2nd straight 1-goal defeat. Kingston, thanks to Denzel McBeth's header in the 77th that beat goalie Kaemon Kakutani to the near post, improved to 1-0-2 to move to the top of the standings, albeit with only 5 points in those three games. The four teams in the group are all about equal, so there's no saying who will emerge amongst them. Finally, Kobelco United Football Club, the last team that had yet to play, opened their Cup XIX tourney with a hard-fought 4-3 win over Queen City FC in Group H. Rafael Jasso wasted no time getting the Japanese club on the board with his 2nd minute strike and Nampo Oe got what proved to be the game winner in the 74th since Queen was able to knock a couple in late, including an 89th minute score from Brendan Patel. Other than the boys from Cologne, three teams in the group look good.

I'll grab all of the pm games this evening.

There were 6 pm games added to the standings as FC Not Very Athletic still remains the only team to clinch their playoff spot. Athletic improved their seeding in the knockouts after a 4-0 Group F road win over Jonzo's Gongers, which was officially eliminated from playoff contention and will have to seek glory in the consolation rounds. The score might have been very large if it wasn't for Finn McRickard getting sent off in the 6th minute with a straight red card. The man down didn't hurt the English side's scoring output as they scored twice in each half to coast to the victory.

FC Cackalacky played a pair of games in the tight Group B standings and only came away with a single point, which may still prove to be vital. FC Stolpen Steamroller won 5-2 in Lower Saxony as Garrin Schilling and Rey Jaime scored a pair of goals each to move them into 2nd place in the standings. Cackalacky then added to their frequent flier miles by traveling to Japan to face Godai Hiroshima, where they didn't show much jet lag and played the group leader to a 2-2 draw. After a scoreless 1st half, Cackalacky took the lead off a Quique Niño header in the 56th, built it up to 2-0 a moment later when Emile Vessels converted and then had to hold on as Godai regrouped and split the points after Scaloni Sierra found himself unmarked in the box in the 72nd.

FC Winnipeg Royal Lions remained unbeaten in three Group C results after they beat up on Metropolitan Eagles 4-0 to move to 7 points. The game was only 1-0 at halftime but three goals in the 2nd half put the Screaming Eagles away. Orion High placed a ball into the upper corner to start the final 45 and Winnipeg eased its way to all the points. The Metro Eagles, while technically not eliminated, would have to make up a 15 goal differential in order to advance, so the defending Bums Bracket winners will be looking to repeat.

the crutchanators of soccer and Not Very United played probably the most critical game of the evening as the two teams are tied in the Group G standings with crutchanators holding the tiebreaker as to who would advance to the playoffs. With that said, it was more important for Not Very to get the win but all they could manage was a 3-3 draw, meaning crutchanators still holds the advantage with a single game remaining for both clubs. Not Very took a 3-2 lead when Patricio Paloxi hit a knuckler that snuck into the far corner but the Canadian side was heartbroken when Leotrim Fasel received a crossing pass with a few minutes left and buried the shot into the back of the net. Since both teams only have the Dutch National team left on the schedule, tonight was Not Very's best chance to overtake.

To end the evening, Rushmore FC is having a difficult title defense as they fall 1-0 to Wolfsburg Dynamit and find themselves uncharacteristically in last place in Group A with a record of 1-2. Rushmore completely dominated the game but couldn't score. Wolfsburg, on the other hand, had few scoring opportunities and converted their last in the 76th when Radburt Sinclair beat Rushmore goalie Rej Maria to disappoint the home crowd. The Champs still have three games in which to right the ship but they better start winning soon and often.

10 games tomorrow as we enter the home stretch.
6/23/2026 8:53 PM (edited)
I have a super busy morning so I grabbed the first three am games and I'll do the other morning results around 1pm.

FC Winnipeg Royal Lions becomes the 2nd team to punch their ticket as they beat Swamp City Dragons 4-1 to take over the top of the Group C standings and on to the playoffs with what is proving to be one of the best defenses in the tournament. Hungarian forward Firenze Széll, whose parents wanted him to be a water polo player, picked the right sport as he scored a hat trick to lead Winnipeg. The Dragons lone goal came off the head of Stephen Gregorini in the 53rd but Swamp City was never really in the game. The result means that Southeast Indiana Football Club must win its final game against Winnipeg and hope the Dragons lose to Metropolitan Eagles, since Swamp City has a massive tiebreaker advantage if the teams end up with the same stage points.

Another hat trick was posted by Garrin Schilling of FC Stolpen Streamroller as they beat Brighton AFC on the road 4-2, moving Steamroller to the top of the Group B standings and eliminating Brighton from the playoffs. Jake Tiffney got Brighton on the board early but the German squad had too much firepower and had taken control by halftime. The result now forces FC Cackalacky to win its final two games to have a chance to advance. Otherwise, Steamroller and Godai Hiroshima will be the group representatives.

Lastly, Swampdragons FC and BC Timber Wolves played to a 4-4 draw, a result that helped both teams inch closer to the knockouts but really benefited Rushmore FC as they can still catch both squads since they have games in hand.. Swamp FC had a balanced offense as four different players netted...the best coming off a Julian Gillet header in the 58th right after the team had gone down a man due to Bothain MacAlonie body slamming a Timber Wolf player for no reason. That error in judgement allowed the Timber Wolves to erase what was a 4-1 deficit and come back to tie the game, as Brazilian Jeovânio Javier Pedro scored the 3rd hat trick of the morning to split the points and prevent Swamp FC from clinching their blue highlighting.

On a side note, all Group Stage games are now scheduled, so thank you again for making the tournament run smoothly by getting those challenges sent and accepted. The last games are on the 29th, so the playoffs and Bums Bracket signups will be starting on the 30th.
6/24/2026 9:11 AM
Looks like you can pencil in the Metro-Eagles for trying to defend our Bums Bracket title.
6/24/2026 12:02 PM
Well, I'm going to need to two evening updates as I ran into a slight real life problem that took a lot longer than expected. If you work on your own cars and live in the rust belt, you know to take it easy when taking off bolts because every bolt underneath the car is probably frozen in place. You also know that the one bolt that is almost impossible to get your wrench on is the most likely to break...and that's exactly what happened.

Doing rear brakes on my old 2000 Civic Si and the bolt in the worst location snapped the moment I touched it. Just spent that last several hours drilling the remnants out, so my 1pm update will now be more like a 5 or 6pm update.
6/24/2026 4:43 PM
Alright, a third team has earned their way into the knockouts as Las Vegas Scorpions F.C. make it out of Group G after winning easily against Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond 4-0 in Vegas. Borivoj Fales scored his 7th to grab a share of the Golden Toe lead and see his club into the Playoffs. The Dutch National team generated a single shot on goal, which Henricus-Lambertus Elia was unable to convert.

Fußball-Club Köln 01/07 e. V. showed a little sign of life by playing a complete game and beating Queen City FC on the road 6-3 in Group H play. Marcos Katz and Mano Araña both scored a pair for the Billygoats as they get their first points of the tournament. Queen was down by 5 goals before they finally netted when Raulo Jorge finally got them on the board in the 56th off a nice header. The game really opens the door for Kobelco United Football Club to pass out of the group stage as they are only a point behind Queen and have a whopping three games in hand.

Hardknoxs F.C. won their 3rd elimination game in a row, taking all three points against SwampDragons United by a score of 6-3. Swamp U could have punched their ticket but Hardknoxs was, once again, facing a must win and delivering the goods. Nataniel Masana scored the 4th hat trick of the day in the victory, while Swamp U was led by Roger Alice. Swamp U is now the team in the must win situation as they face Jonzo's Gongers in their final Group F game. Hardknoxs will sit at 9 points and see if it is enough.

FC Gimli Vikings, to keep the trend for today going, posted the 5th hat trick as Rutger Bosse knocked it in three times in their 4-2 Group E win over Club Deportivo Baile Brian. Anker Spelas got Baile Brian off to a fast start when he scored in the 4th minute but the Bosse show was too much for them to overcome. Gimli goes to the top of the standings with a lot of games still left to play.

The last two games came out of Group D, including the first win for Fortuna Düsseldorf as they beat Bad News 3-2 in North Rhine-Westphalia. Ordmund Alcock got what proved to be the game winner in the 78th since Victor Monsoreau netted a few minutes later to finish off the scoring line for the French club. The News loss coupled with a 2-0 win by FC Trojans of SC over North Polar Dragons FC vaulted the Trojans to the top of the standings as they now lead with 9 points and are on the verge of clinching a playoff spot. Veteran Mohammed Burch scored in the 48th as North Polar generated a lot of looks but didn't have the quality in the attack to finish off any of their opportunities.

I am having some strange Internet issues so if there is not an update for the 7pm game, that'll be why. Otherwise, I'll be back in a couple of hours to post the return game between Vegas and the Dutch Nationals as they travel to the Netherlands to wrap up the Scorpions group play.
6/24/2026 6:52 PM (edited)
Internet decided to play ball. Las Vegas Scorpions F.C also decided to play some ball as they beat Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond in a game where the Dutch were competitive...for at least the first half. Aaltje-Alexandersdr Jans and Henricus-Lambertus Elia scored early goals to give Het Oranje fans something to smile about as the young squad took a 2-2 tie into halftime. Unfortunately for the home side, the enormous disparity in shots (25-9) had to translate into goals for the Scorpions at some point and that became a reality about 10 minutes into the 2nd half as Amall Pedarzolli clubbed one past Gijsberts van den Ouweland to give the heavily favored Americans the lead for good. The 4-2 win completes a successful Group G campaign for the Scorpions as they await their seeding in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Orange have signed up for the Bums Bracket.

Another double digit day is on tap for tomorrow as we have 12 more games to go into the books and 13 playoff spots up for grabs.
6/24/2026 8:25 PM
The last big day of the Group Stage is underway and 5 of them went final overnight or this morning.

Group B had both playoff spots decided by a single result when FC Cackalacky was playing for their knockout lives in a game they had to win against FC Stolpen Steamroller. The early parts of the contest were looking promising as they held the ball in the Steamroller box and peppered Saul Hussey with attempts but the accuracy just wasn't there as the attempts went either high or wide. Garrin Schilling, however, didn't miss on his shot in the 32nd to give the Saxons the lead for good. After Finn Urmas Kanniainen closed the score to 2-1, Steamroller put the final nail in the 90th off a Michael Castro header to finish the game as a 3-1 Stolpen victory. The result sends both Steamroller and idle Godai Hiroshima through while Cackalacky will try to find fortune in the Bums.

A pair of games in Group H brought Merchiston FC to the brink of clinching and virtually assured my Fußball-Club Köln 01/07 e. V. will be heading to the consolations. Merchiston won 2-1 against Kobelco United Football Club, giving Merchiston 10 points with an 11 goal tiebreaker advantage, meaning they will be advancing but technically haven't done so mathematically. Carlin Kiley got the game winner in the 64th when his shot was not handled properly but Kobelco goalie Carsten Zobel to give the Scots a 2-0 lead. Some late heroics by Kobelco forward Orlan Calveche wasn't enough to bail out the Japanese side as they suffer their first loss. Meanwhile, Queen City FC got a critical 4-3 road win against Cologne, dooming the German squad and banking three points that Queen really needed. Cup XVII Golden Toe winner Mano Araña showed he still has the touch as he bagged a hat trick but he was lone lone Billygoat weapon. Queen was led by Brendan Patel, whose rising strike in the 86th clipped the underside of the crossbar and in for the game winner.

To wrap up the morning update, North Polar Dragons FC gave themselves a chance, albeit a small one, after they won their final Group D game 3-2 over Fortuna Düsseldorf, a club that was also badly needing three points. F95 jumped out to the 1-0 lead when Willard Claget bent in a ball from serious distance in a highlight reel type of shot but the Dragons scored three out of the final four, including a late header by Hosea Müzer to end their group play with 7 points. The Dragons will now have to wait and see if it will be enough, which it probably won't be since Bad News currently holds the tiebreaker and Fortuna can still get to 9 points if they win out.

Big games this afternoon and evening. I'll post the 1pm games around 2pm or so.
6/25/2026 9:12 AM (edited)
FC Trojans of SC has qualified for the playoffs by thumping Bad News, who was looking to clinch their own place, by a 7-4 score to take the top spot in Group D. News went up 2-0 after a Nadir Brocard strike in the 9th minute, making the 40,421 French fans celebrate. They had exactly 60 seconds to enjoy that moment as Morrey Sumner scored the first of 5 unanswered Trojans goals to wipe out the lead and clinch the win. Not only did News lose the game but they were passed in the standing by North Polar Dragons FC, who needed this result to reclaim the tiebreaker advantage, as North Polar has two more away goals. News will need to score a point in their final game in order to advance, otherwise, the Dragons will take the 2nd transfer spot.

A pair of games in Group E have tightened the race for 2nd place as well as bringing FC Gimli Vikings on the cups of taking the top spot. Gimli beat 2nd place FC Kingston 4-2 when Stearn Rentería broke a 2-2 tie in the 2nd half and then added his own insurance goal a bit later to secure the victory. Then, Slough FC hit the road and beat Club Deportivo Baile Brian 3-1 to move within a point of Kingston with both teams having two games left to play. Takeshi Takada got what proved to be the game winner in the 38th when he found himself alone for an easy header placed with expert skill. Baile Brian is still in the mix but will need a couple of wins out of their last three games to have a chance.

Lastly, Swamp City Dragons had an opportunity to clinch their playoff spot with a win but could only manage a 1-1 draw against Metropolitan Eagles, who played with pride after being eliminated earlier in the week. After the Metro Eagles took the 1-0 lead, Arley Movsisyan scored his 6th of the tournament. Swamp City is now locked in at 9 points, opening the door just slightly for Southeast Indiana Football Club, who needs to win their final game by 9 goals. Dare to dream.

There are still a bunch of games this evening so I'll see you later.

Down Goes Frazier! We are guaranteed a new Champion as the Cup XVIII title holder Rushmore FC was eliminated this evening after dropping their third Group A game, losing tonight to BC Timber Wolves, who took the game 4-2, jumped to the top of the standings and punched their own ticket. Things started off so promisingly for the Champs as they went up 2-0 and Timber Wolves defender Geronimo Cobos was kicked from the game in the 11th after trying to break the legs of Ty Evan. Yet, it wasn't enough of an advantage as the Canadians closed within one by halftime and then mustered a pair of goals in the final two minutes to shock the almost 45,000 in the Rushmore Stadium into disbelief. After the referee blew the final whistle, the Timber Wolves players came over to shake the hands of the Champs before starting their celebration. The win also sends Swampdragons FC through to safety, who were high-fiving while sitting around a television watching the contest.

Merchiston FC also advances after destroying Kobelco United Football Club in a massive 8-1 home win in Group H, wrecking Kobelco's differential. It was never really a game as Merchiston just poured it on, led by Golden Toe leader Thomas-VanLuijk De Meyer, who scored twice to be the first player in Cup XIX to reach 9 goals. While the Japanese team have plenty of games in which to recover, they have a lot of work to do and can't afford another result like that.

Not Very United got an expected 2-0 Group G win over hapless Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond, who will probably end up as the only team who does not score a group stage point. The Dutch Nationals are bad enough but they can't afford to go a man down, which was the situation after John Wauters was red-carded. Not Very ends group play with 10 points, which will probably not be enough as the crutchanators of soccer finish against the Orange and, if they win, will hold the tiebreaker.

Club Deportivo Baile Brian beat Slough FC in their return game and beat them by the same score Baile Brian had lost to Slough in the first matchup, a mirrored 3-1 result out of Group E. Raymond Petke scored twice for the Irish club as they jump from last to right back in the mix in a very tight race for 2nd place. Slough, who got a lone score from Dorian Pyrtle in the 57th, must win its last game and then hope a very specific combinations of scores happen. The real winners were idle FC Gimli Vikings, who clinched at least 2nd place despite playing only three games so far.

To finish off the day, Brighton AFC got a consolation win in their Group B finale, winning 4-1 over FC Cackalacky. Another red card marred this game and another team scored four short-handed goals despite the handicap. Veteran Kyle Frame scored twice to lead Brighton, while Cackalacky got a tally from Quique Niño, who used the extra space the man advantage provided to fire a bullet that froze goalie Kolton Rimando into spectator status.

Considering the heavy schedules we have had the last several days, the 7 games on tap tomorrow will be comparatively light. Six playoff spots remain.
6/25/2026 9:39 PM (edited)
The lone morning game was the wrap-up game in Group B where the two playoff teams were trying to improve their knockout seeding. Godai Hiroshima accomplished just that after their 1-0 win over group winner FC Stolpen Steamroller. Nachton Peter was the lone scorer when he hit a low ball midway through the 2nd half that skimmed across the grass and underneath the fist of Stolpen goalie Saul Hussey, who was trying to punch it out of harm's way. Godai improves to 11 points as the group runner up while Steamroller finishes with 12.

While we wait for the afternoon and evening games to sim, now is a good time to remind everyone that if your team is eliminated from the playoffs, you can voluntarily enter the consolation rounds, which is called the Bums Bracket (named after the coach who pitched the idea, not because the teams are bad.) The sign-ups for the Bums will last until about the midpoint of the Knockout First Round and then the participants will be seeded and play will begin. Its a good chance to play additional games against other coaches in a tourney format, so either post here in the forum or send me a sitemail.
