I think I already got my $10 worth with the draft. It was great and nice job to all!

Nice job with the draft scud! First run with something in this format went pretty smooth.

thanks, scud. excuse the attitude yesterday - long day at the office coupled with the expectation that i lost my final players b/c i busted prematurely.

take care brother - hopefully a solid league is to come.

BIG BUMP...

Hey, scud, here's the thread from yesteryear.  This is what we should do again!

Wow, 4-5 years later almost none of these guys are still around.  Just scud, dh and me.  Still, I'll bet we could fill a reincarnation.

chinese new year coming in a few days... will be traveling, but certainly time to try and walk this dog again... will put the league back together. i liked the format alot... combined with the dh52 (steel52), the odl, ssl(specific season) and the master blaster... these 4 draft leagues would provide good varieties and drafting strategies. lots of strong talent now in the "new" group.

I'd play... The guy picking 1st in this draft certainly had an advantage with the way the positions came up. Lebron, Wilt, and whatever PG he wanted were guaranteed... Hard to lose like that, unless you pick guys like Corey Maggette....

Very true, and because of that it might make sense to mandate some kind of reasonably fair order for the positions.  Actually if C is first and any other position is second than the same owner won't end up with Wilt and Lebron.

problem is that lebron is eligible in 4 positions, not to mention the pf position itself usurps many of the center positions as well... so, i am playing with a draft that might include a few variations... ABBAAB, or starting one round at the number 12, then 13, then 11, then 14, then 10... but i am sure there'd be some who would get confused. haha. anyway, am hashing out some things.

Instead of position eligibility, you could go by the position wis lists for the player. And in cases where players have different positions listed for different years (Dwight Howard comes to mind), you can draft him in the category you want but have to actually use a season where he's listed at that position.

For example, LeBron could only be drafted as a SF. Rodman could only be drafted as a PF. Dwight could be drafted as a PF or C but you can only draft a year where he's listed as a PF if you pick him in the PF category. You could play them in any position you want. Just a thought.

that's an idea, uptown... instead of being 100% efficient at the position in which you draft a player, he must be listed on the wis data base as actually being SF or PF or C, etc. hmmm, that would fix a lot of things right away. Yep, i will change the 100% rule to "wis listing".

the order of the draft by position is the focus now... how to make it as fair as possible
