So, your theory is:

Trump is under audit
If he releases his tax returns, the corrupt IRS might find a way to press charges
Charges that they wouldn't have filed already...even though they are already auditing him

Sure..that makes sense
People aren't necessarily audited because they're suspected of evading taxes. The IRS has always been used as a tool to check people who aren't necessarily suspcious. Name me one case where somebody has been charged with tax evasion BEFORE the IRS has audited them. Lol

And your summary of what I said is also reductionist. I think there could be a media spectacle caused by reporters snooping into the tax returns and going to question people in other organizations involved in transactions with Trump. There could easily be a big article in the NY Times that makes allegations relating to this type of media scrutiny with no basis.

Then there would be massive pressure on the IRS to do something, and that would be a story unto itself. The entire thing could be baseless (without tax evasion charges) and still hurt Trump politically. It would put him on the defensive. This is poli-sci 101.

So, basically, the IRS has Trump's returns.
Additionally, people are screaming for Trump to release them.

Your contention is that the release of his returns would cause scrutiny and force the IRS to act.

Yeah, OK, that makes sense. Somewhere. Just not planet earth.

Of course he has been audited. Nixon Obama does that to all of his enemies.

No, I think that it would put pressure on the IRS, creating a big story. People calling for them to press charges, etc.

The history here doesn't have to do with the IRS itself being "corrupt", mainly it has to do with it being used as a political tool to cause discomfort for people the President doesn't like.

Somewhat like people demanding that Hillary be charged for using a private server?

lol Mike -- come on.

You need a lawyer to fully straighten you out on this one. Hillary, by her own admission, has violated very basic, very clear laws.

To hurt Trump, there would have to be an allegation that he was hiding his revenue/income, resulting in heavy media coverage.

Two different things here

Nope. The DOJ is blocking as much as they can for Hillary.
5/19/2016 5:32 PM
Yeah, that's also true. Obama is the President and controls the DoJ and IRS. He'll do what he can to protect Hillary. Trump, on the other hand, faces a politically adversary.

Look, public outcry isn't going to force the IRS, DOJ or some crazyfuck Senate subcommittee to act. It's ridiculous to believe so.

moy nailed it earlier. It would the the Dems more talking points.

Personally, I don't think Trump wants to do it because people are demanding that he do so. He's funny like that.

But that's what I was already saying! There would be a media firestorm as reporters went after all the executives in all the companies doing business with Trump. It would put Trump on the defensive politically.

Trump would have to be out of his mind not to dot every "i" and cross every "t" in his returns. He's already said he was ready to invest $1 billion in his run. Why would he try to cut a corner to make some extra money on the side by cheating on his tax returns?

Not giving in.... that's the 'backbone' many of his supporters like about him.

Crazy to think such a ****** businessman (BL's words) made 100 times more money than the Clintons last year.

Did he? Because I heard John Barron say that Trump actually made just over $80,000 last year. Sad.
I don't know who John Barron is.... but if you believe the CEO of the Trump Organization made $80,000 last year you are retarded. ****, half the people on this message board probably make more than that.
