Fine... EVERY SINGLE is about as accurate as mikey's "A RUN CANNOT SCORE ON A STRIKEOUT"
Mea culpa. I'm wrong like Mikey. Overstated my point. Forgive me.

William, you're a one trick pony. You can say it over and over again how great it is to K, as opposed to putting the ball in play, but no matter how many times you say it, it won't make your horrible nightmares of your little league career go away. Sorry.
And it's a bit pathetic how often you are on these boards.

No problem. This thread has served its purpose... namely to make my low-motivational Friday go a lot faster. Look, it's lunchtime and I haven't accomplished a fiicking thing!

Dear Jane,

I've NEVER said that striking out is great. Just that there's no reason to prefer another kind of out.

Thanks,

Bill

No, it's just better than getting a bat on the ball and making an out.
When you wake up from those nightmares, are you sucking your thumb and in the fetal position? It must have been quite traumatic, stiking out all those times.

I do get the feeling, though, that you "love the productive out" guys would take a .100 hitter with 0 strikeouts for your team.
"THAT SUM'***** SURE DOES PUT THE BALL IN PLAY!"

Dear Jane,

How do you get "better" from "we don't prefer one over the other?"

You morons are the one with a preference.

We are telling you that your profound baseball knowledge has no support in the world of verifiable facts.

Thanks,

Bill

He didn't even have any runners on base, Jane.

You are bad at baseball.

theres only a 1/8 shot at a double play in double play situations so who cares.

So assuming that clearly-pulled-from-your-*** number is correct, you wouldn't care unless GIDPs averaged out to cost more than 8x the runs of a "productive out?"

Or you just are picking a new reason to turn your brain off?

Mike still hasn't answered the question that has made this whole thread possible.
Do you believe that teams score more runs when they strikeout less?
Yes or no is all you need to say.
