For the 30/30 was it Tommy Harper? I seem to remember the announcers making a big deal about it when the Red Sox traded for him back when I was a kid. (Many nights wasted listening to Ned Martin)

Bonds is neither the 30-30 guy (did not play in the AL in any case) nor the answer to the HR/hits ratio.

Neither is Kingman.

Bonds did play in the AL from 75-79, and in fact hit 30/30 three times.

in 1922 Ken Williams of the Browns hit 30 home runs and stole 30 bases. Who was the first AL players to accomplish this feature after Williams?

As of this morning, the record is held by Trevor Story...100% of his career hits are HR

I actually wasn't being a wise guy...Story does hold the record.

Another player who has the 100% ratio is Daniel Norris...1 career hit, 1 home run.

Are you restricting this to players who are no longer active?

There are several others players who only career hit was a home run...some of whom are retired.

For players who hit 2 career HR (not including Story) there are several who did it with only 3 career hits. Story is the only one who is 2 HR for 2 hits.

For players who hit 3 career HR, there is one who did it with only 3 career hits...and he is retired.

I think McGwire's ratio might be higher. Did he have around 600 HRs with only 1800 hits?

Actually doing more math Kingman is higher as well

Interesting combalt. Killebrew is also higher (573/2086 = .275, while 21/79 = .266).
Adam Dunn (462/1631 = .283) is higher.
Rob Deer (230/853 = .270) is higher.

Nobody is touching McGwire though...again provided the threshold is above, say, 20 HR.
