Capital Athletic Conference: Year 12-pres Topic

Andrew, once again, great work. Your seasonal recruiting updates and projections are at the heart of what makes the CAC the best conference in Hoops Dynasty.

If I had tact I would have mentioned what Rogue did before the comment about the blue background.

Why is the new Goucher coach playing two freshman at SG and PF when the returning guys are clearly better. I know I have , but man that gets at me!
9/22/2007 8:28 PM
Sully's back! Well... kinda
I dunno. I guess he'd rather play his own guys than some guys who won a CT and got to the Elite 8 last season. Only reason I can think of.
BTW, congrats on the hot start. Especially love the St. Martin's game. 23-83 combined from the field. That's my type of game
9/23/2007 12:37 AM
Yeah, we are off to a good start. I only choose that conference to meet up with one of my buddies. You gotta love the St. Martins game. It doesnt get much better than that.
Can somone talk some sense into the new Goucher coach for me?
9/24/2007 8:46 AM
No offense Sully, but if you wanted to coach the team, you shouldn't have .
9/24/2007 9:25 AM
Point taken mccabe. You dont have to be so harsh.
9/24/2007 12:03 PM
And here I thought you were the one being harsh. My apologies.

You just wanted something proving St. Mary's was at one point ahead of both York and Villa Julie because once conference play starts it'll be gone. Smart move

Sully, Locke's been such a monster on the boards. Cramer Berkowitz, I mean Berkholz didn't start for your squad, and hasn't complained coming off the bench. Plus he seems to cower when i start him. I get little production out of him.
Willis has been lackluster as well. I haven't seen his mother feeding him chicken in the parking lot after games yet. Oh wait. These are college kids. I guess we aren't supposed to criticize them.

Villa Julie College Coming Up With New Name

(WJZ)BALTIMORE Exactly what is in a name?

Apparently a lot.

Villa Julie College says their name is causing misconceptions about their school. Peggy Lee reports they're looking for a new title.

Since 1947 Villa Julie College has been a place for higher learning in Maryland. The Baltimore County school began as a two-year all-girls Catholic college for medical-secretarial training.

Fast forwarding 60 years and things have changed.

"We're in our 10th year of increasing enrollment; we've grown to a second campus. We've grown our endowment," said Glenda Le Gendre from Villa Julie College.

Now the college is coed and has graduate and undergraduate departments.

The second campus is expanding at Owings Mills, the college is becoming a university, and it could be getting a new name to boot.

"I think people just think it sounds like a girl's name, but I don't think it does," said Brianna Seekford.

Students, faculty and staff are submitting suggestions. Two popular ones: Greenspring University and Rockland University.

"Greenspring would probably be better for me. That's probably the best name because of Greenspring Valley Road," said student Buddy Breidenbaugh.

Changing the name isn't based solely on becoming a university. The school says because of their name, people associate them as being an all-girls college.

Over the summer, they polled 700 people from in and outside of Maryland, asking them how they felt about the name.

Included in the study were potential students, their parents, high school guidance counselors, business leaders and college recruiters.

"The view from other states on Villa Julie is all-girls schools and affiliated with the Christian church," said student Mallory Turco.

The college says the study showed their name is confusing among most of their external constituents and changing to Villa Julie University alone would not correct the incorrect perception that could negatively impact recruitment.

Why not call it Raul Julia University. That's manly
10/11/2007 8:21 PM
Or Pancho Villa University.
