II heard about Bill Hall to the twins for Joe Nathan in either 07 or 08. Sure wish they couldve done that one.

Now Bill Hall says the pressure of his contract got to him.

I'm sure the Brewers would have been happy to renegotiate it down if that would have helped.

That's one of the worst excuses an athlete can ever give. I can't believe how often I hear it used. If you know you're a fragile puss, don't sign the contract.

Jeff Suppan was hammered for five earned runs over 3 2/3 innings Thursday in a rehab start with Triple-A Nashville

He gave up 4 runs in single A is his 1st rehab start.

Just 1 more year of this bad contract, thank god.

Yo Bush Manny Soup and Loop are all under contract for 2010 with Loop having a mutual option. lookslike more of the same next year.

Jesus Colome put on DL with "forearm strain" and Chris Narveson called back up.

Minor league catcher Carlos Corporan DFA'd to make room on 40-man for Narveson.

If the Brewers can acquire a #2 SP by trading Hardy/Hart/prospects (or something similar), and Bush can stay healthy and pitch like he did before the injury (#3 form), the Brewers will at least have a rotation that could allow the offense to propel the team to the playoffs. 1/2/3/5/5 is a helluva lot better than the 1/5/5/6/7 they've been pitching with during the last few months, and if Parra is closer to his '08 form than this year's form they might actually have an above-average rotation (1/2/3/3/5).

That's a lot of "if's," though. IF they acquire a #2, IF Bush stays healthy and bounces back, IF Parra is able to pitch like he did in '08, IF there are no major injuries that once again expose their lack of pitching depth. But it COULD happen.

The problem being that Manny Parra is a piece of garbage.

Yes, that's a slight problem. I'm beginning to think Mike Maddux was very important here, especially with what he's done in Texas after leaving.

Texas has given up fewer runs than any other AL team.

Brewers manage to beat Washington three out of four, I guess that's progress.

I'll be headed to the game today for the much anticipated return of Cy Young candidate Jeff Suppan to the Brewers' rotation.
