Back in 1981, I was a junior in high school and attended "High School Sports Editors' Day" at the Kingdome. We had a press conference just for us with a few people from the Mariners, including a player, who was as thoroughly entertaining in that setting as he was playing. He is famous for getting down on his hands and knees and blowing a bunt foul. And therefore, I am very pleased to take one of the best characters ever in baseball, and a mighty fine player as well:

Just realized I've been avoiding Brewers players this whole time thinking I had already drafted one... Would've probably grabbed Tommy Harper over Matlack in Round 7. Ugh

In round 13, after 2B Jorge Orta was chosen 2 picks in front of me I decided to switch my original plans and choose the second baseman version of Don Buford. It never happened because Buford was chosen next -right in front of me.
