There was only one winner in challenge 5 last time I checked, and I think tribe 1 didn't even bother to play the games cuz they knew they couldn't beat Randy.
hahhahaa. I like your optimistic colored glasses.

I still need seasons for Ruth and Robinson. If I don't have them by 8 p.m. ET, those tribes will get two random seasons.

CHALLENGE #6

From power pitching to power hitting, this time each tribe will choose one of the top 10 career home-run hitters. As in the previous challenge, each tribe will use two teams featuring their slugger in four-game series against each of the other tribes. Members of the winning tribe will each receive an individual bonus, and the two losing tribes will combine in voting to send one player home. One player from the two losing tribes combined who has the best record (first tiebreaker is home runs by the slugger, second is fewest runs allowed) will receive individual immunity. One player in the challenge will receive a clue to the fourth Immunity Idol, based on something in game play.

As loser of Challenge 5, Team 2 will pick its slugger last. Players are exclusive, with the first to post among the other two tribes getting rights to their choice. There are no captains for this challenge; anyone on each tribe may post a selection and the first one posted counts. Teams used in the challenge must have a WIS-eligible season of your hitter.

Anything goes for pitchers; use them however you want. Each tribe may use any starting pitcher for as many starts as it wants, and anyone may pitch in relief. For the tribal contest, first tiebreaker is runs allowed, second is homers by the chosen slugger.

Bonus options available for use in this or a later challenge:
Toddleduc: - You may expand the eligible seasons in picking a team by 3 years. For example, if the challenge requires a National League team from the 1980s, you could pick a team from 1977-1992.
FishNasty: - You can demand an intentional walk once in one game (Pause the game and wait for acknowledgment from your opponent).
staindman: - You may have the opposing pitcher ejected one time in the 7th or 8th inning.

JOSH - Schedule is screwed up above.  I am in tribe 2, yet you have me playing in the tribe 1 vs. tribe 3 matchup with Robinson........

Should be fixed now

In the first game of this challenge, Tribe 2 takes a very close game 3-2 over nfet.

No Hr's for either Griffey or Ruth.  Jose Cruz Jr. though breaks a 2-2 9th inning tie with a bomb of his own

confirm.  Ruth strikes out with a guy on base in the bottom of the 9th.

Cautious optimism...

The 1971 Oriolees and dubrightway absolutely skunked the 94 Mariners. That Randy sucks (he walked like 5 guys), the bullpen is godawful, and the offense blows. Frank Robinson hit at least one home run.

Great pick there by team two.

8-1 victory confirmed. and 1 hr by frank robinson.
I also confirm that the 94 Mariners are not a very good team.
8/26/2010 1:33 PM
I also confirm the HR and the score. I dont know that they are godawful but they did not look good.
8/26/2010 1:38 PM
Well I messed up, trop i thought 94 was the 95 team. I forgot which team was the better one and submitted. oops

Delta beats knee 6-0 Ruth with a HR. Left throws until he is in the 30's and still doesnt give up a run.
8/26/2010 10:56 PM
beat knee 6-0.  Lefty does the job, even sorely fatigued, before handing it over to Ivy to finish it off.

"B.Ruth crushes a 2-run HR to CF" to break the game open.  Gherig followed that with a back to back shot to seal it.  Both HR off McNally, who was being used in relief.

good game knee...was closer than the score.
